Longshore Sailing School — Attraction in Westport

My son has been attending the sailing school for the past several years. He has thrived due to the consistently excellent instruction. Every single instructor has been outstanding. There are no exceptions. They are patient, kind, and super fun. They also put safety first while simultaneously making every session exciting. My son has grown into a confident, safe, and skilled sailor. The entire staff works to create a positive and happy environment for every level of experience. I am impressed each and every year and after each program. We also had family come to visit recently and rented 3 catamarans. We needed 2 instructors and my son sailed the last boat on his own. We had a party of 10, many of whom were from Utah and who never get to experience the ocean. Consistent with my son's excellent experiences, every member of my family was impressed with the skill, the professionalism, and the kindness of the instructors, Reese and Ben. It was a most memorable and delightful afternoon that they won't forget. They are already hoping to go out again the next time they visit. I honestly cannot say enough good things, and I highly recommend ALL the programs at Longshore Sailing School. Anyone who has the opportunity to go there in any capacity is a very lucky person....

I have had only WONDERFUL experiences at Longshore Sailing School. The staff is well-trained, friendly and informative. Every kayak I've rented is always in great shape. The location is beautiful and if you love being on the water, you are in for a treat. The boundaries within which LSS requires you to stay are not at all restrictive and the staff makes sure you know what they are. I have taken out rentals at LSS dozens of times, and the experience never feels repetitive. Tides, breezes, time of day, and general weather conditions and their interplay make each experience unique and memorable. (It is only good sense to think responsibly and to make yourself aware of those conditions when you are heading out.) It is clear from what I have observed over time is that the kids in the sailing school are having a great time and there is plenty of staff working with each group. I just completed the adult advance sailing class at Longshore Sailing School. Even though I had no sailing experience prior to the classes I took at Longshore, I am leaving this class with far more knowledge and experience than I had previously imagined. All this is due to the great staff and the instructors at Longshore who are extremely knowledgeable, patient, and provided great instruction to the students. I especially want to recognize Ray and Chardy from the adult advanced class for their professionalism, commitment, and making the advanced course not only a great learning experience, but also a lot of fun.
