I grew up going here. Everyone local calls this "The Duck Pond" and most likely always will. The kid play ground is great. The pond itself looks like it's being ignored with it's murkey water that had a pink tint to it???? The ground around the pond had a pink tint to it so it's sumthing that it being washed or pushed into pond from rain etc which can be harmful to the ducks and fish. The grass and grounds itself don't look like it's being cared for maybe White Settlement is having employee issues. The skate area and tennis area is a shame absolute mess and no care what so ever is given by the city. The parks department has left this a mess for many years now it's nothing new. If your going to enjoy the kid area with swings and stuff then your good. If your going to enjoy the ducks and pond your most likely ok but I can't make any promises. All else forget it don't even attempt to skateboard, play tennis or use any of the fenced in upper area of park. It's a joke and should be chained off before someone gets hurt. It saddens me to see a park I have been going to for almost 50 years decline like this. But it's the city officials fault they are the ones not taking care of it. I see them running around the entire town doing what seems to be not much at all, or sitting in the truck doing nothing. The water gets contaminated bacause they don't follow thru or close the water sources and it all effects the community. All in all this is a safe park to go to meaning it's not likely that you be held up, robbed, or your car being broke in to like at your other parks in the city. The play area is safe meaning equipment in safe condition. Bathrooms are ok most...
Read moreI'll always be fond of this park. I called it the "Duck Pond" park when we first came to Texas in 1981. Life has a way of bringing us back to where we once we're and living close I can visit more often. It's nothing like it used to be but traces are still there. Quack Quack Funny little story, in 5th grade I was visiting the park and happened upon a duck best. I knew better but being a kid. I took one of the eggs and tried to incubate it at home tucked inside my water bed. Lol No it didn't hatch and when my mom found out she wasn't too...
Read moreIn Fort Worth 's hatred of RV's, this clearly marked " NO RV". Since I am driving a bus conversion, I am unwelcome. If you are a tourist/ visitor, it is against the local law to sleep in your RV. That's right, cousin Mary, sleeping in the camper, could get busted. RV's are rarely seen on streets of Fort Worth. More than 2 nights at walmart the city police WILL be sitting next to you,and will escort you off the property, AND FOLLOW YOU OUT OF TOWN....
