This smooth, elegant ride makes the best of two, heart-pounding dives into wonderfully themed and interactive terrain. The back of the thirty-person, three-row train provides a whip-like thrill over the first drop and through the sweeping Immelmann. While, the first two rows allow riders both a constant, almost magical, rush of an air and the best, pulse-wrenching view as the dive machine dangles over its signature 205 foot drop. Griffon easily merits re-rides as it is extensively smooth, offers a variety of great views via the staggered theatre seats, and ends before riders can settle themselves from the thrill of the first 90 degree dive. The coaster earns bonus points for the photo ops it offers, including a picturesque water-spraying touchdown just outside the queue area. Experienced coaster heads will want to aim for the outside seats. Faint-hearted first-timers may wish for a middle seat, no...
Read moreThis dive coaster is one of the best in its class and one of the best rides at the park. The ride is super smooth and the views are absolutely the best in the park at the top of the lift hill. You get a fun few seconds to contemplate your life as you hang there before the drop. The one thing I hate about the B&M dive trains is you are super close to the next person and your arms will fight for position during the whole ride. You are also limited in how much you can raise your hands in the air. After the dive the turns and the splash down are very nice with only one sight jerk of a possible head banging moment before you hit the break run. Overall this is a coaster you could ride over and over again and the line is usually pretty short. They also have a...
Read moreI don't care what any park literature says, you have to ride in the front row to truly experience this ride. You may get a similar view from the raised seats in the second and third rows, but the true "dangling over the side of the coaster" experience is not the same back there as it is in the front. I've ridden so many times that I know the number of seconds you hang, but it never ever fails to feel like much longer than the actual time, which is pretty impressive. You get some amazing views of the park up there, plus the downward motion and loops are really great ride mechanics. It's also very smooth and fairly comfortable for a...
