It's good for personal use, small groups, pet owners, sport activities. I'm there everyday.
The tennis courts are always busy busy usually left with an open court.
Most city intermural softball leagues use Rockford's upper diamond. No fence.
The picnic areas are few but have places to barbeque. Each has separation for privacy.
Marathons and other events will pop up near the water tower on weekends.
Parking along the roads is fine. Be sure not to park your tires on the grass.
Rockford is very popular with dog owners. Dogs can run free. You'll often see numerous owners and pets congregating located near the entrance. There are receptacles for picking up dog waste and depositing it.
We use it to work out under the gazebos and various shade trees on the big lawn.
Huge boulders surround the high points of the park. If you're careful, they make for interesting use. Working out to photo ops.
The park runs in a loop with inner loop. Great for short runs. I skate it. You can also explore down to the Brandywine from the parking lot under the tower.
The bathrooms are located under the water tower and are clean. There's a couple parking in front of the bathrooms.
The people are good to the surroundings. The tower is a nice backdrop for photos, tours...
