It is a beautiful place, Built between 1899 and 1902, the half-million-gallon water storage tank and observatory is constructed of natural field stone. You are able to see the Brandywine River, Dogs are welcome. There are concerts and other events starting late spring through the Fall. From the Tower, you can hike down to the Brandywine River. It’s family friendly, an inexpensive way to connect with nature and spend time with family and friends, or a date /meetup. Parking is free. And at the heart of this park stands this wonderful 115' fieldstone tower that serves as an observation deck and water cistern for the community. The Rockford Tower was constructed between 1899 and 1902 and is breathtaking to behold. Her details are many and artfully executed... her "gargoyle" water drains, her "archers cut" windows, and her sundial that is rendered ineffective by lovely trees that deserve to be there are among the joys.
