My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Passion Flower cabin for a nice weekend getaway but our experience was far from what we expected. Upon arrival all seemed as advertised, but as soon as we took a closer look at the cabin, we were quite disappointed with the upkeep of nearly everything. We first noticed the refrigerator was not very cold and had standing water on each of its shelves. Throughout our entire stay it never truly got cold which inhibited us from buying any cold food. This obviously a big hassle as the cabin advertised a working refrigerator. The main window in the living room had blinds which did not cover the entire window which was not only a privacy issue, but allowed the central Texas summer sun to blare into the room making it harder to cool in the afternoon. Other windows and doorways were covered with curtains mounted on bent curtain rods which made it very difficult to close them correctly. We adjusted the AC units as soon as we arrived and noticed it looked like they had NEVER been cleaned as they were caked with dust and grime. We entered the bedroom and turned down the bed to find numerous long hairs (and short curly ones too) all over the sheets. Called the staff to help us get new sheets in the evening which they did bring for us, but only after questioning what was wrong with them and insisting that the sheets were just washed and should be clean. The staff member arrived at our cabin with new linens and handed them to us after insisting again that the sheets should be clean and offering a very rude apology. Staff member arrived the next morning to collect the old sheets/bedding and for a third time asked what was wrong with them before apologizing again and insisting they would not put dirty sheets on our bed and “jeopardize [their] business.” Once we changed the sheets ourselves we found the mattress pad to be stained and generally dingy along with the pillows. (No mattress or pillow covers). Slept the two nights with hesitance due not only to the bedding fiasco, but also because the sheer material stapled across the entire ceiling above the bed was absolutely LITTERED with dead bugs. Additionally, the ceilings, corners, and windowsills of the cabin were covered in cobwebs and dead bugs. Last but certainly not least, the toilet bowl was filthy, and much like the AC units, seemed to have never been cleaned even once.
Here’s the thing, we understand that this is a cabin in the woods and do not have any complaints about the quality of the cabin itself. It’s a cabin, we expect that there may be a bug or two inside or that the ceiling or shower may have paint chips, be sort of rudimentary, etc. BUT our problem with this cabin is a SEVERE lack of upkeep and poor service. It is simply not very difficult to dust cobwebs and AC units, to CLEAN A TOILET, or to double check your bedsheets to ensure they aren’t covered in random hair. Similarly it isn’t very difficult to just address a guests issue when they have one and not contest their claim multiple times. The Wildflower Inn has a great location but unfortunately that is its only redeeming factor. I paid $350 for a two night stay in a unkept and dirty cabin and received backlash when I had an issue, and the experience you will have here is simply not worth that kind of money. Save yourself money and hassle and stay...
Read moreWhere do I even begin on how awesome the Wildflower is? We got married here in October of 2023. From the very first communication, to the day of the wedding, and even after the event was over Carly and Natalie were nothing short of fabulous. The the aesthetic of the property is stunning. I had toured a few other venues but nothing gave me the feeling I had at the Wildflower. I knew when i came around the bend of the driveway and I saw their giant old oak tree, that’s where my fiancé and I were to be married, this was the place. They have a very cute pond and yard games out back for guests to play, but we enjoyed the fire pit and s’mores most. During the whole planing process Carly and Natalie were there as much or as little as I needed every step of the way. They have lots of packages for decor, bar, set up, tear down etc. We opted to use their decor package, and end of night clean up. It was nice knowing my family and friends didn’t have to pick up at after the event was over. They they had so many decor and color options to choose from, but after a few questions they nailed the exact aesthetic I was looking for with some extra florals and extra decor from their sister company. On the wedding day it was nothing short of perfect. The colors, the oak tree, the field of rain lilies that sprang up from the recent rainfall, the pumpkins, flowers, moss and fairy lights everywhere, it was just magic. We also opted to use their on site lodging. They can hold a lot of people, our whole wedding party stayed on site and it was so nice to be close to everyone and have that extra time together around the pool and fire pit in the main house, while everyone got their privacy in their rooms or private cottage. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience with them. I also have to add one more time how above and beyond they are. Our wedding day ran late, as they often do (no fault of theirs) and due to time constraints I missed out on my bridal photos and many pictures I wanted with my new husband. I can only imagine how late we would have been if we didn’t stay on site, that was a blessing in more than one way. I reached out asking about the possibility of a “do over” photo shoot hoping they wouldn’t think I was a little strange. They happily accommodated my request and even decorated the tree exactly as it was on our day. They didn’t have to do that, but they did, just to make my day after the event was over, I can’t say I know many venues who would have been so gracious. They made the whole wedding weekend, wedding day and especially wedding photos, something to...
Read moreMy now husband found this venue after stressing trying to plan a wedding in 6 weeks. From the moment we contacted the wildflower country inn we knew immediately it was the place! We live in San Antonio and wanted something rustic and intimate. We had a small wedding of about 43/45 total guests. Carly, and Natalie made this experience extremely easy! I would say almost too easy!!! I did not stress over a single thing whatsoever and I tell everyone this because I am very particular with every certain thing. Carly and Natalie put together an entire event only after seeing about 4/5 photos of ideas I had! I stress every year trying to put together our daughters birthday parties and let me tell you... this was the smoothest process! They have so much experience and went over everything and guided us through choices! We rented out the main house to have family and friends enjoy the stay with us and definitely helped since we live an hour away. The main house was beautiful!!! We enjoyed the views, the peacocks, the quietness just everything! The day of went smooth with constant communication and the walk through of everything! I was scared I was going to forget something but I felt like I had tiny helpers along the way! It was truly amazing and everything we could have hoped for! We got the lodging, the decor, the ceremony, reception, the amazing planner all in one place! They also created a bouquet for myself and a boutonniere for my husband! I told him constantly how much I loved the bouquet!!! It surpassed my expectations 1000 times over!! Literally everything we could of wanted and more! A million thank You’s over and...
