Parents, please don't leave your young children walking by themselves in the parking lot. Drivers, please be attentive and mindful of walking children in the parking lot.
This evening after dinner, I took my two boys to the park to play. I noticed a man walking by himself to his car in two stalls next to me. As I pulled into the parking stall, my rear camera alerted midway, and I turned to look at my screen showing a little girl no more than 5–6 years of age walking into my stall. I braked so fast that I had never done before. That gave my children and me a huge shock. After I got out of the car, I halted the man and asked if it was his daughter. I told him what had just happened and that she should not be left walking alone in the parking lot, and something bad could have happened to her. I suggested he walk alongside her in a public setting, especially in the parking lot, because something could have happened if children were left unsupervised and unattended. What shocked me more was his non-worried response. He was really lucky that I was a mother of two, and I ran everything by" safety first." I do my 360 degree checks, shoulder checks before I back into stalls slowly, and "I have a rear camera to help ID any moving objects or people in motion." I can’t stop thinking about what if my car was any taller with no rear camera, and no video recording camera on— this left me really thankful I had all of that.
After ending the talk with the girl's father, I turned around and saw another young girl of the same age was running by herself towards another car in front of the right side of my car. The same father called the girl asking where her mother was. After taking my babies out of the car, as we walked towards the park entrance, we saw the young girl walking and running towards her parents talking to other parents at the entrance of the park.
Once again, parents, please don't leave your children unattended. While walking with them, you want your eyes on them and screen for any dangerous situations and hazardous objects.
Driver, be mindful there may be children unattended and running...

Read moreWe were visiting Winchester downtown last week. And drive by this adorable park. It was a sunny day so we stopped to play. ☺️ My daughter loved the grass Jill and it was cool that a couple boxes were already there because we didn't bring one with us. The bathroom was unlocked for use and the property was well maintained and landscaped. Very nice property and cute park. Different layout with some adventures to climb and explore. A nice walking/ running trail goes around for exercise or movement while...
