We came to visit in April, looking for a place to get some toddler energy out and kill some time. They were cleaning up leaves and I can't speak for summer, but it seems like a really well-maintained park. A few pieces of litter in the stream, but the beach was clean and the paths seemed tended. The climber for 2-5yo is very small, but we had a lot of fun running around and watching sticks float down the river and throwing pebbles in the water. What a great little spot!

May 22, 2021 Visiting Lauter park on my visit to see my brother in Willimantic. Heard a lot of bird, only got pictures of a few. It was getting hot in the afternoon with high humidity. I loved every minute! 2020--Being at Lauter Park brought back childhood memories. The Waim Community Garden at the Park is great.

Lauter park has the best skatepark in Eastern CT. Nice picnic spots and there are always people fishing and swimming in the river. Free. Plenty of parking.

Nice, quaint place to get some nature, sun and water, etc. tbh some of my kids have outgrown this spot and their friend’s have convinced them that the water is dirty, so I’ll give one less star for that. I also don’t trust the bathrooms. They need to be renovated. I still manage to drag them down there, for the most part, because I enjoy the easy experience. When they get there, they never have had a bad time, and we’ve been going for more than a decade. There’s also a splash pad for “cleaner” water. Basketball, playground, skate park, soccer field, fishing, etc there’s a lot to do, when I think about it, for such...

I wish it was kept up a bit better. I’ve been here many times and like the general layout. The skate and bike park looks good and is almost always busy when I’m there. The beech area looks good and I’ve used it with the kids once or twice but it has always been surprisingly empty. The soccer fields were good enough last year except for people not picking up after their dogs at the end of the field by the gravel parking area. All in all it’s got great bones and potential but it looks kinda...
