We stopped by this roadside attraction with our grandkids. A short drive off the freeway. This is a small fenced park with a few big trees, a couple of benches and a table to sit and relax at. The highlight is the world's largest egg, which was commissioned by Vern Zander, one of Winlock's poultrymen. This put Winlock on the map as the egg capital of the world. This is a fun place to stretch your legs and take some pictures. Don't miss it.

If you want to see a very large egg then Winlock WA is the place to be. Not only does it do nothing! It also looks great in photos. Don't try and eat this relic or the Roosters guarding the egg will attack. Check out the local chicken art and visit the small shops and restaurants surrounding the egg. Nice little town to visit. Make sure and check out egg days in June. Car show, parade, free egg sammiches and lots of fun activities

I grew up here. Was back visiting family last week. So glad this is still here!! It has had many paint jobs over the years. There is a tiny park surrounding it, so people can get a close look, take some pics. Parking is across the street. Active train tracks on it's east side. There is also a geocache here. Not a physical one, but here is the pic we posted of our tired tired faces early in the morning on way to SEA.

Everybody's talkin' about The Egg. Here's a little history on the Egg Capitol of the World -- Winlock had its day in Hollywood - My mother was born there in the town doctors house/hospital, and she told me a quaint story about how she spotted a Hollywood actress , Claudette Colbert in a hotel in Astoria , where she was a teen attending a school prom (in the 40's during WW2), apparently the actress was in town visiting her husband serving in the Navy . She was in Astoria on a break from filming a comedy/romance movie in Winlock, with Fred MacMurray titled The Egg and I . The film is fun to watch, and served as a pilot for the "Ma and Pa Kettle"...
