There's more seating available than the Wisconsin Center! Clean, plenty of room, noisy of couse (to be expected), but my 3 starts are because you BRING YOUR WALLET---FULL. We are there in January and February for 2 weekend club volleyball tournaments every year. They charge you for parking on both days ($10 total), charge you to walk in both days ($6 per person older than 5.) Our family of 4 costed us $58 total just to get in for 2016. You can't walk in with a coffee or water either. (The garbage was FULL of steaming coffee they made everyone dump out). To buy a coffee there, $5 is the cheapest. Cheeseburger--$5....don't ask for pickles or onions. It's mustard and ketchup only. We are done with that. We spent $250 just on their premises. (Not including the cost for us to travel, stay in a hotel, eat outside of the tournament time.)They have a few fresh fruit and granola bars, but those are your healthy options. We get that they need to make their money, but we'd spend more if you'd stop charging so much just to get in the parking lot and the doors. Do raffles, games, etc...that patrons want to splurge on where money to goes to different things like the Dome and/or back to the tournament. What happened to weekend passes or one fee for the weekend? Especially when its $575 (PER TEAM) for 30+ teams to participate (of course there's no cash reward). 2017: Fast fwd to the next tournament last weekend: We paid $58 again to get in. We walked out to our paid parking to eat and drink. We are NOT tight with money either. Everyone complains about it from parent to parent, but no one speaks up to those who may listen. We felt that we were forced to have to pay all this money for our children to play and for us to watch. Our families who normally come to watch the tournaments won't travel to this one because of the costs for...
Read moreBased on previous reviews I arrived with some hesitations of what may be if this place. It was just fine!! We are at a lot of club volleyball events. This one was just fine! Do your ears pop when you walk through the turn style doors? Sure! Was it a weird muffled noise inside? Yup! We couldn’t understand why the coffee portion wasn’t open on Friday am. Whole I’m between games, we stood there by it just watching the people. This nice employee showed up and not even sure how we started talking, but it ended one was the food manager of the facilities. He said no coffee bc his help is limited with so many of the kids, in school. Made complete sense!! He offered to find one of his employees to make me a drink. I said that was not necessary at all:) I was totally fine and it made sense why help was limited. We had a nice visit with him!! I would suggest they just write on the chalk board: due to staff in school, coffee will be open Saturday. I think people would have totally understood. We had no issues with parking. Plenty of parking!!! Yes it was $5 to park and yes we teased the guy taking the money that the kids had to skip breakfast. Yes he smiled and grinned at us and remembered us each of the three days we were there. Makes it a lot easier passing a $5 bill and a nice hello, to a friendly person doing their job! Prepaid for our tickets based on coaches advice. I could not get the QR code to download and we were going to be late for the game. I asked the gate lady if I could come back. She could see my receipt and said sure. Seating- there were chairs at every court. Bleachers were an option if playing on outside courts. I would bring the bleacher seat and go get it if needed. Bathrooms could have been cleaner but there was so many people in and out that it was probably challenging to keep up. All in all?...
Read moreFrom a standpoint of available space for something like a volleyball tournament, this place gets a thumbs-up from me. If, on the other hand, you're talking about bang for your buck ( overall value ), my review isn't quite so complimentary. It's $ 6 to park, $ 8 per person to get into the building, and then, on top of everything else, the concession stand prices are pretty excessive. For a weekend for a two-parent family with one vehicle, you should look at dropping at least $ 50 ( it's $ 6 PER DAY to park, not $ 6 for the two day event ), and that doesn't even begin to pay for your food. Like I said, it's a decent place for a tournament with respect to the space available in which to play...but it's excessively pricey, in my opinion.
Addendum: On the 2nd day of our tournament, we spent 20 minutes driving in circles around the parking lot waiting for a spot to open. It seems to me that they should probably expand the parking facilities, especially since they're doubtlessly pulling in lots of money every weekend for...
