I would have never guessed i would have ever visited dells. My friend planned a trip to Montara during the pandemic and dells was one of his stops on the way. ✔Boat tour(must do!!! I would love to try the sunset tour but my fiance is allergic to selfish and it is a lobster dinner. I still have to see if they have other options for dinner . I would love to see it during the fall. The walks were simple, educational, and a sight to see.) ✔The vue.(such an amazing hotel. I enjoyed the beautiful view from my room of the river. We didn't notice they had balcony rooms until it was too late. But I spent most of my time outside on thier amazing patio with plenty of chairs and tables to sit at. There was even a boat dock to walk on with a beautiful blue light. Lets not even get started with the beautiful pool/hot tub/ and huge sauna that is also overlooking the river. The outdoor pool was across the street but still looked nice to just jump in. A little to cold when we went so that was a no go for me..The restaurant inside was small but had a great view of the river. They have tinted windows so it was hard to see out at night. Dinner was so delicious I ordered the shrimp alfredo. For breakfast we ordered crepes but by the time it got to us it was cold. So definitely a dinner and lunch place.there is a walk way that takes you along the river and up to the main street to visit souvenir shops, food and other fun stuff.) ✔McDonald's ( just check it out its a log cabin McDonald's lol) ✔Ripleys believe it or not(had such a great time) could be 20 mins long or hours depending on what strikes your attention) ✔Timbavati Wildlife Park(the hotel offered us free tickets on the time of our stay. You do not rly need the train tickets . Its a fun ride but if you weren't looking to spend the extra money especially if you have a large group but the train is old and it was a beautiful day. We got the tickets to get in for free so we took everything they offered. The lunch box had snacks and treats for the animals Throughout the park. The lunch boxes really made the day because they had seeds sticks in there for the birdcage that you could walk into and also carrots for the kangaroo Pen that you could walk into which was the best experience ever. I sat there forever just patting them while they were taking their afternoon naps.On this adventure at the wildlife park I also had an amazing Time holding a baby kangaroo. I tried everything I had in me to keep back the tears because it was so cute and fluffy.. For $20 I was able to take a photo with the Baby Kangaroo and hold him for a little. Probably for me once in a lifetime experience that I will treasure. They also have Giraffes and camels to feed right On the deck. the camels were friendly and They had a good personality. Overall I say yes yes yes do That and be sure to keep your Schedule open the day you go you never know how long you'll be There for 100 stars for sure They pretty much had it all.) ✔macs( it was unfortunately closed but we took a drive out to the one at the Kalahari resort and it was delicious)

We didn't get to check out alot of stuff but I will be making a trip back. My nephew keeps asking me to hold the kangaroo but I remind him its a 14+ drive .

And can someone let me know about the place with the cheesecake..they have a sign saying they are the best but they were closed by the time we walked by. I missed it by...

A First-Time Adventure at Dells of the Wisconsin River State Natural Area! 🌲🌊

Wow! My first visit to the Dells of the Wisconsin River State Natural Area was like stepping into a dream! 🌟 I had heard great things, but nothing could prepare me for the sheer beauty of this place.

The Wisconsin River is the star of the show, winding its way through towering sandstone cliffs that look like they’ve been pulled straight from a painting. The views are absolutely breathtaking—everywhere you turn, there’s another stunning scene just waiting to be admired. Whether you’re standing at the edge of a gorge or looking out over the river, the natural beauty is overwhelming in the best possible way. 🌅

As I explored the trails, I felt like I was on a true adventure. The lush greenery, the gentle sound of the river flowing by, and the sight of wildlife darting in and out of the trees made it feel like I was in my own little nature movie. 🎥 Every twist and turn revealed something new and exciting, from hidden coves to jaw-dropping lookout points.

And let’s talk about those views—wow! 🌄 You can’t help but stop and just take it all in. The combination of the majestic cliffs, the beautiful Wisconsin River, and the vibrant foliage makes for a landscape that’s both dramatic and peaceful. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to just sit and soak up the beauty for hours.

If you haven’t been yet, add it to your bucket list! The Dells of the Wisconsin River State Natural Area is an experience you don’t want to miss. I’m already planning my next visit and can’t wait to see more of this incredible natural wonder! 🌳🌊

Thank you! Val...

The beauty of Wisconsin Dells brought tourists here since over 100 years ago. Like Niagara Falls, the idea of preserving the area came too late. What was once phenimonally beautiful nature turned into a city of theme water parks, t-shirt stores, and fuge shops.

HOWEVER, the natural beauty is still here. Take a river tour or even a kayak or canoe from the public landing downtown through the dells. Take out near Witches Gulch. It still is gorgeous and undeveloped from the river view.

For hiking, visit Rocky Arbor State Park. Good camping can be had at this park. This place has so much to offer, but most people never get past the theme parks. The theme parks have their place too as entertainment for the family.

Stay at one of the many hotels built with native American themes in the early 1960s. Very cool stuff from the Madmen era. Wisconsin Dells also has unlimited restaurants of all kinds. So, with a little ambition, you can experience the best of...
