Schumacher Farm Park offers an enriching and enjoyable experience that beautifully combines historical education. Located in Waunakee, Wisconsin, this charming historical site that offers a glimpse into rural Midwestern life in the early 20th century. This living history farm encompasses 40 acres of restored prairie, hiking trails, and picturesque farmland. One of the standout features is showcasing the cultural heritage of the 1920s-era farmstead. It includes a farmhouse, barn, and various outbuildings, all meticulously restored and maintained. The farm occasionally hosts events, workshops, and educational programs that bring history to life for Visitors. The park also serves as a vibrant community hub by hosting seasonal events making it a lively and interactive experience year-round. The surrounding prairie is a serene backdrop for hiking trails and wildlife observation filled with native plants and wildflowers. Enjoy!

We love this little treasure of a park. I’ve never known a farm turned public park and that is a special thing to have access to! My kids love the sandbox, old machinery on display, and chickens. Some caretakers were around weeding and such the other day and they let my kids help feed the chickens. So fun for them! We loved seeing the vegetable garden. :) There are some vault toilets and they are kept clean.

Brought the kids out here for the annual Heritage Fest and we all had a great time. Knowledgeable volunteers, fun activities with old time theme and farm animals. Historic farmhouse with lots of well preserved furnishings and decor. Their calendar has lots of events - we'll definitely be back for another visit. Highly recommend for kids and adults interested in history and farming.

I had a wonderful Halloween Event, with my 4 Grandchildren and Daughter daughter-in-law. It was beautiful, bonfire, hayride, reading rooms, fortune tellers, hot dogs, brats, kettlecorn! There was a Magician there that was awesome, his name is Ryan! If you have any events, I would call the local Auxiliary Board and ask them for his name and number for a private event! He is in front of you, his hands are quicker than your eyes he's an excellent magician! I had a wonderful time, a nice welcome to Waunakee, WI for me, just moving...

This is a great place to catch a sunset and take a walk through the prairie. In the summer there are chickens to visit and it's always fun looking at the old farm equipment on the lawn. Once Covid breaks, this park hold great events for families like Heritage Fest and Halloween on the Farm. At Christmas, there's usually a holiday tea in the house that is always nice. The farmhouse has a working wood stove that is used to teach people how to cook the old...
