The Emerald Paw — Local services in Waunakee

I was so excited to stumble upon this facility when I was searching for boarding options. It looks well-maintained and has ammenties above and beyond many standard kennels. The problem is their communication. I wanted to schedule a tour and tried calling on a few different occasions during hours they were open and I did not get a call back. When I tried one last time the facility actually texted me. They said I could not schedule a tour on a weekend because that’s their busiest time, and that I could only do a tour on a Tuesday or Wednesday. I was still willing to try and make that work, and I responded that I could do Thursday, 8/1. They said they could only do an 8:30 or a 12pm. For being a new facility I would think they would want to be as accommodating as possible to bring in new clients who will book stays, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. I said I was willing to do 8:30 on Thursday, and no one even responded to confirm it. I canceled my dog’s reservation for September. Oh my goodness! I love Emerald Paw! I found out about it right before the grand opening. Jenny is amazing and Sarah and the entire crew! Let’s just say they’re very easy to work with. I was a freaked out dog mom and nervous about sending my dog to a new boarding facility. Let’s just say they ruined me for any other place. 😂🩷 I literally drive an hour and a half to board my Duncan there. From the moment you walk in it’s a spa like environment. The essential oil smell, soothing sounds, the color of the walls everything is such a relaxing and calm environment. Most importantly, the owner and staff are very very calm. Soft-spoken. Nothing is chaotic. They send me pictures and updates and are incredibly accommodating with all of his needs. The check in and check out process is very intentional and thoughtful. ☆☆☆☆☆ I personally have not taken my dogs there yet due to not having a boarding need till later this year. I did however take a tour and WOW! I am so impressed with the standard of cleanliness, the suites for the dogs, and most of all the SAFETY that is in place at every door and corner. I have no doubt that my two dogs will be well taken care of and possibly may not want to come home after spending time with Jenny and her wonderful staff. They surely go the extra mile or two, to ensure that every dog enjoys their stay and every human client is comfortable and confident about leaving their "fur kids" at The Emerald Paw.
