Great experience for the first 1-2 hours of the opening day. After that, they make you wait in 3 lines just to slide down the tube slope. 1.5 hours wait to slide down on a tube for 5 seconds. We were there on monday, the new year's reserved holiday. My kids got to slide down the hill on the inflatable tube 3 times between 9 am until 1:30 pm before they were discouraged because the line doubled in length from their last 1.5 hour wait (and kept growing). Although the line had reached a 2+ hour wait, they remained only having 3 slides open out of the 7 available. Their excuse was 'the other slides did not have enough netting at the end to stop people from flying off'. In sight, there was as much netting as the the 3 slides they had open. The only thing that made it fun was the employees guiding at the top of the tubing slides. My kids said the employees were cheery and made it fun by spinning them. The adjacent sledding park also had a line and the sledding slope was 20 feet long at best. It was only suitable for 4 foot kids or shorter. Not for a 6 foot tall teen.
$20 parking, $59 per kid, and $15 for a cold breakfast burrito.
There was good seating for parents. I asked if the heaters would be turned on (9:15 am) and was replied, "yeah we will turn them on for you." Of course they never did, not to mention no heater had any of the propane tanks attached to the heater hoses. Fortunately, we had winter blankets, which came in handy to sit on and to cover ourselves with. I saw other adults last 2 hours, on average, and would leave earlier than the 5 hours we were there (because our kids are older teens). Naturally, that is the favorable result the resort wishes; for you to pay up $$ to get there and make you leave asap.
The snow play park was more enjoyable 10+ years ago with the free parking, cheaper prices, and less traffic. I understand the rise of pricing. I wouldn't had minded paying double what i had paid, if mt. High were to limit the amount of tickets sold per day, therefore reducing the traffic and resulting in a more enjoyable day. Unfortunately, it is more profitable to set ticket prices at a somewhat reasonable cost and then discourage customers as best as possible to make them leave as soon as they arrive.
As a wrightwood homeowner, it has come to a point that it is faster and costs about the same if i were to drive to mammoth for a day in the snow, than to drive to...
Β Β Β Read moreParking and food were good, but aside from that, the place was overpriced for what it was worth. No kid prices. Very black and white rules, no flexibility. The website seems to advertise way more than whatβs there. Even though itβs a family friendly snow play area, the kid policies are not super kid friendly. Kids after a certain height cannot connect their tubes with an adult if they are scared, the conveyer belt was very difficult with small children and multiple tubes. No customer service really, just black and white rule book statements the entire day. In addition the rates are cheaper online, but you cannot actually purchase all options for snow play online, so you are forced to overpay at the park. The website advertises sledding, but there wasnβt any. The website also advertised a bbq restaurant which seemed nonexistent. They should have kid prices at such a place, as essentially we felt we paid for our small kids (2 & 5) to go tubing once and be terrified out of their mind, and then to just build a snowman and go home. We could have for sure done this recreationally on the side of the road in Wrightwood, but chose to believe that we were getting something special at Yeti park, but we were not. Also they kicked me out of the restaurant with my kids bc I brought snacks for them. Not family friendly...
Β Β Β Read moreThis establishment has fallen short of expectations, leaving me with a sense of disappointment. The initial payment of $25 for parking, coupled with the exorbitant $69 per person fee, is outrageous. It is evident that the staff and management lack the necessary knowledge and expertise to operate a ski resort or create an enjoyable snow play environment.
The tubing experience is particularly frustrating. Despite the short duration of the five-second sled ride, waiting 20-30 minutes for each ride is an excessive amount of time. My three-year-old child, who experienced the ride once, quickly lost interest in waiting in line for the second time and never attempted it again due to the inconvenience.
The establishmentβs regulations are excessively restrictive, diminishing the overall enjoyment of the experience. The only redeeming quality of this place is the use of their artificial snow for play.
I was under the impression that tubing would be a more enjoyable and relaxed activity, but not here. I strongly advise against visiting this place if snowfall is occurring in the area. Instead, consider purchasing your own plastic sleds and finding a suitable hill for sledding. This will allow you to have a more enjoyable and...
