The Bentley Banquet & Conference Center — Attraction in Wyandotte

To explain my rating I'm going to start from the beginning of my process here at the Bentley. When I first went to look at the location for my wedding I loved it it's a beautiful building. So I met and talked with the mangager at that time she told me all of their packages they offered and everything they Include. So we decide to put the deposit down for it. for our package we got they promised everything center pieces, they said they would have our guest escorted inside after the ceremony bc it was outside in their little garden, they made us feel so reassured that they could meet all of our needs. Fast forward a couple months, we go to the bridal expo for the food tasting we pick our menu pay for the extra things added to the menu we are still dealing with the same manager at this time. Now a couple months from our wedding and I haven't heard anything, so I called and asked to make an appiomnet to choose the set up for the table and center pieces we set up time and date. When we arrived the new manger had no idea why we were there I explained that I made the appiomnet to pick up the center pieces and table settings. She informed me they had went through different mangers since that time &no longer offer those services, I started to panic because it was less than 2 months from my wedding & now I don't have center pieces or anything she agreed to make them for me since I was promised them. Then while picking up table settings other things promised are no longer offered. We go back into the office to go over the contract while the new management is looking over my file she says that they lost my food menu & I have to pick again, she proceeded to hand me a list of just the names of food no pictures or descriptions mind you we paid extra for certain things that we no longer had. Now we are a couple weeks away from my wedding still haven't heard anything back on my center pieces so myself and my mother continue to call and email when we finally get response she sends a picture with shot glasses and a red napkin in a vase said it's a just for now picture. But now I will explain eveything that happened the night of my actual event. So in the contract there was suppose to be an attendent in the bridal suite to get drinks or anything. There was not. After my ceremony the guest where suppose to be escorted around & through the main entrance No one came. We had a slide show that was suppose to play thru out the lobby and it was not. We paid for 150people to have a Champagne toast only about 30 people got it. we had a time line set up for when dinner was suppose to be served and things like that, that we set up months before the event. After doing our entrenances &our dances dinner was suppose to be served when I asked one of the waiters when dinner would be ready he told me 5 more minutes I said ok waited asked another one she said the same I waited asked another girl and she was very rude and said I don't know it will be out when we are done. Finally asked to speak the the man who was in charge and he got dinner out over 30+ minutes after our original timeline. The food was not what we had chose in the beginning. We had an open bar and we told them in advance our families were heavy drinkers and we paid for certain bottles to be in stock inculding honey jack which was almost everyone's favorite. They did not even have it. For the bar there were 2 workers one was so mean that I had so many guest come up to me and complain about how rude she was. She wouldn't serve my grandma they also stopped using name brand alc & started using generic whiskeys, etc. & were pouring beer from cans into glasses my guest where so confused on what they were even drinking. Now about 3 days after my wedding I finally have the chance to email them about all of my concerns& we set up a meeting they apologized So basically beautiful building, lacking in...

I attended a banquet in November of 2024 at The Bentley Banquet & Conference Center. I was very impressed with the service and food provided at this event, so much so, that I have recommended that my son and his fiance' consider selecting this venue for both their wedding ceremony and wedding reception. They plan to get married next September or October and I am assisting them in doing preliminary reviews at a number of wedding and reception venues. The staff member was very cordial and pleasant, and was very receptive to my inquiry. She provided me with a tour and price list of all of their wedding packages during the tour of their facility. I was very impressed with the elegant look throughout this beautiful wedding ceremony courtyard which also has a waterfall, as well as their wedding reception ballroom, which was very beautiful as well! First I'll start with a positive. The foyer was gorgeous. The tables were pretty. However the food at the wedding we were at was very bland and the waitress we had was rude.One of the waitresses spilled the au jus from the meat tray on my husband's suit jacket hanging on the chair and on the back of his dress shirt, leaving a grease stain, thanks for that one that suit was brand new. When they set out the desert table they had already cleared our tables so we had no silverware and they didn't set out any silverware for the cake. When we said something to the waitress she said, "you should have asked." But I would expect a food that is eaten with cutlery would clue someone into providing said utensils.
