Ok this is a little be of a rant but as someone who has come to this beach my whole life the town has done an awful job maintaining the beach and providing basic services. They no longer groom the beach, I've seen up to 5 people standing around the entrance shack collecting for parking yet there are no lifeguards. They even have a guy walking around with "beach coordinator" or something like that on his back. What am I paying for?!? Maybe instead of having a bunch of administrative overhead positions they had people who provided value the beach would be worth the parking fee. Just a couple of years ago the lifeguards had to pull someone out of the water and do chest compressions, that person would have died if that happened this year. Additionally, since they privatized the snack bar you need a loan for a fudgesicle. West Dennis beach is a much better option with real services and lifeguards. Yes it's more expensive but at least they're...
Read moreThis was the first beach on our Cape Cod Family trip. We stayed in Yarmouth so we came here to get wet! The parking for us was $15 and there was plenty near the beach walkway, we were there at around 12pm. There is a bathroom and concessions stand right near the parking entrance and beach walkway. We found a spot near the life guard post and settled down. My wife and kids all went in and I followed. The water was really warm but refreshing. It was also very clear but full of seaweed nearest the shore. You could also see tiny fish swimming around. We all had a good time. At around 4pm we started to notice these big flies that I later looked up as gnats. These little bastards were biting my wif and me at the beach then in the parking lot. We hurried to put everything in the car and drove off! We saw more at another location so it moght be a Cape Cod thing. But overall, really nice beach!!...
Read moreReally nice beach, theres some seaweed at the shore line once you get past that theres only a little bit in the ocean, I hate seaweed and this didn't bother me. Yes there are shells just bring water shoes, I had mine but didn't feel the need to wear them (at the far end of the beach are tons of shells cant walk barefoot). The water is calm and warm and that's what I loved most about this beach. I also liked the clarity of the water, out pretty far and I could still make out my feet under the water, there are some small rocks but nothing ur gonna get hurt on. Snack bar was eh we chose to leave to eat lunch, they offer burgers, hot dogs and chicken fingers... fries are extra. This was our favorite beach to swim at while on vacay, we also went to nauset beach... monster waves...
