This is not a motel. This is home.
Talk to anyone who has ever had the pleasure of staying at the Surfcomber and you'll hear the same thing. You recognize the people who stay if you go the same week each year. The staff, especially Maria who is in charge of the Housekeeping team, are all so kind and are always willing to give any suggestions for things to do and places to eat in the area.
They leave survey cards in each room and they actually take them to heart and implement changes that people recommend! The rooms are clean and the beds are very comfy. The pool is amazing and always clean and you can't beat the walk to the beach. The beach chairs are wonderful, the shuffle board is something fun to do and sitting out on the balcony outside each room is a great break from the sun of the beach. I've been coming here my whole life and am looking for bringing my family back here for generations to come. Stay here once and you'll never...
Read moreI prefer to spend my money on local businesses, so we decided to stay at the Surfcomber. I stayed here with my parents years ago and it brought back many fond memories. Little has changed from those days, but the property has seen better days and appears somewhat dated. The staff was friendly and resourceful, but seemed to lack the resources necessary to provide the level of service I had remembered from years past. I'm not terribly picky about the hotel rooms I stay in, because I tend only to sleep there at night and explore the area during the day. It's a great place to rest and regroup and the location is fabulous . It has the lived-in feeling of staying at a friend's cottage, not a hotel, which I enjoy. I'm confident that once our economy returns to pre-pandemic levels, the SC will be back to the perfect place it once was. Give the place a chance, you won't be...
Read moreJustin, the manager, called the police on me after they bumped us from the room we paid for a put us in a different room. I asked for a refund as the room they gave us was not the ocean front room we booked. He offered no attempt at a solution... only became defensive after I asked for a deposit refund. He literally called the police on a customer who paid $3000 for a room. Ill never go back... and I'll tell this story 1000 times... unprofessional, rude, and the $3000 room we had was awful. Black mold in shower. Ocean view not ocean front. Refrigerator only cooled to 48 degrees. Bed was like plywood. Not one good word to say about how we were treated. They baited and switched and screwed us. Shame. I had stayed there seven or eight times prior and I would not go back if the room was free. Justin needs a course in...
