This park is a cute little place to come play with your dog or play with your kids. It has toys for the kids to play and in the summer is a good place to come cool of from the hot sun. You can have a party or a bbq and theirs fun for all ages. It has a ramp down into the water for unloading small boats or kayaks or even tubes. It's just down from a spot in the river that is usually to shallow to stay on a tube or in a boat, and their aren't anymore that shallow until way past nisqually which is 9 miles down river. So this park is a great place to start your rafting journey and is the perfect distance between this boat launch and the next just a your exiting yelm.

Easy access right off the main road. Ample parking. The ramp went right into the river not very far away from parking. Sandy Little Beach there.... Beautiful setting. There is road noise but I still say a great spot for a quick dip, nature bathing, grounding, or picnic.

Could be a great park but unfortunately there a some people that think they own the place and parked in the boat launch and then proceeded to take up the entire river so no one else could use it complete lack of decency and common sense WOW!!

It's a lightly used, lightly funded, boring chunk of land that has only one exciting area/feature....that my friends is the Pokemon gym located there for the game I obsessively play on my phone called Pokemon go.

Ok, if you're a fan of glacier originating rivers, the Nisqually river, coming from the Nisqually glacier on Mt Rainier's South side is another less boring feature of McKenna park, this one being real, you don't need a phone and a game app to see it.

While you're there, stop by Stuarts Meats, hands down the best small town place to get your eager hands on a variety of meats, including these gems: Guinea Pig, Alligator, Bison, baby cow (veal), common yard moles and Raccoon.Ok, I personally don't know if any of that is on the menu there but I can say their pepperoni sticks are top notch.

Odd fact about McKenna park: although it is squarely located in the heart of downtown McKenna, you'll be scratching your head just like me to read on the parks visitor information sign that it is maintained NOT BY the city of McKenna and their bustling parks and recreation Dept but by the city of Centralia!!!!?!?¡!

What has 2 feet, a load of Stuarts exotic meats and a friend named Pete? I personally don't know the answer to that one but I'm sure one of you geniuses out there can...

McKenna park is a small park run by the Centralia Water District. It is one of the few parks in the area. Normally it is cleaned of trash frequently. Unfortunately since there are few places to go in this area, it attracts more than the occasional park goer. A lot of people bring their dogs and no one pays attention to the signs where dogs are not allowed. There is children's play equipment in this park. It seems relatively safe. I have gone this park for almost two years and have never felt anxious. In the summer, it fills up quickly. This park is adjacent to the Nisqually River. Because of that, it attracts swimmers, fishermen and tube floaters. There are benches and tables...
