Delightful park/botanic garden for walking and just enjoying being outside in a beautiful environment. There are paved and compacted earth paths that are navigable by wheelchairs, rollators and strollers. Plenty of seating and bathrooms on site.

As the City of Montevideo continues to density and develop, parks and other public open spaces become even more precious and critical to the health of the inhabitants. Most people do not appreciate the amount of resources - human, financial, even political - required to maintain and improve municipal park systems. The well known parks of Montevideo were designed and built generations ago when civic ambition and activism came together with experts in botany, landscape design, and politicians willing to build the public realm (even as the country was still of modest means). While the botanic gardens are clean and pretty well maintained, the present funding and staffing are evident in lack of tagging specimens, additions to the collections and more active curation of plants/trees. Uruguayan...

🇺🇾🌳 JARDIN BOTÁNICO DE MONTEVIDEO 🌳🇺🇾

Seguinos en IG y Tik Tok: @the.garden.explorer

🕰️HORARIO: Lunes a Domingo: 9:00 am - 6:00 pm

🎟️ENTRADA: libre y gratuita

📍UBICACIÓN: Av. 19 de Abril 1181, Montevideo, Uruguay 🇺🇾

Botanical garden with wide variety of plants/ shrubs/ trees. Plants have a name tag Along with the description how it's beneficial. Also the medicinal plants have a place for themselves. Very beautiful architecture. it has a place where one can view a fountain along with the room for caretakers. The tracks for jogging is also there. One house even gives a spooky vibes(pic attached), which makes this place more exciting. Very beautiful collections of fountains and very...
