Crypt of Amir Temur. The crypt of Amir Timur, which, according to experts’ opinion, had been prepared by Amir Timur for himself, is located behind the Dorus Siadat Complex. Amir Timur commanded to erect the crypt shortly after the completion of the construction of the Dorut-Tilovat. It is a bunker with a wooden door leading to the crypt, discovered in 1943, when a child playing football fell through the ground. The room is plain except for Karanic quotations on the arches, which read as follows: “The Supremacy belongs to Allah alone. He is Eternal”, and “All Good is in Allah's hands, He is Allmighty". In the center of the room, there is a marble sarcophagus. It is covered with a huge, monolithic marble gravestone, which is 11 centimetres thick, with 5 iron rings attached at the corners and in the middle for its installation. On the stone were found encryptions related to the life of Amir Timur, thus, it is believed that the crypt was intended for him. Amir Timur’s life was lost in 1405 during the campaign against China. He was not buried in Tamerlane's crypt in Shakhrisabz, which was meant for him, but was interred in the Gur Emir mausoleum of Samarkand.

A remarkable tomb. On the edge of the Dorus Saodat complex, a crypt was discovered in 1943, which is now called the Amir Timur Crypt. The austere space is undecorated except for a few quotations from the Koran and contains only a large marble sarcophagus. Since epitaphs about Timur Lenk were found on the 10 cm thick cover plate of the sarcophagus, it is assumed that this tomb was intended for him. However, Timur Lenk was not buried here but in the Gur-e Emir mausoleum in Samarkand.

This site was a burial site that Amir Temur prepared for himself. Though he ended up buried in Samarkand with his teacher and blood relatives, the site was kept as it is and it has an empty tomb.
