Read more🇺🇸 There are two types of trains for traveling between major historical cities of Uzbekistan: high speed trains like Afrosiyob and regular trains like Sharq. Sharq is a standard train that travels at 80-100 km/h and costs three times cheaper than Afrosiyob. Roughly $10 between cities. It’s not properly air conditioned, and when the train comes to a complete stop, there is no air circulation at all. It can get really hot in the summer. Afrosiyob is the modern high speed train which travels at speeds exceeding 200 km/h. It takes you from Samarkand to Tashkent, for example, in two hours. The tickets are $30. In spring and fall, during the busiest tourist seasons, the train tickets sell out fast. Plan to buy your tickets in advance. You can do it online or through your travel agent. Of course, you can buy them in person at railroad ticket office too. 🇺🇿 O’zbekistonning asosiy tarixiy shaharlari o’rtasida yuradigan ikki xil poyezdlar bor: Afrosiyob singari tezyurar va Sharq kabi oddiy poyezdlar. Sharq - soatiga 80-100 km tezlikda yuradigan standard poyezd. Biletlar narxi Afrosiyob poyezdiga nisbatan uch baravar arzonroq. Bir shahardan ikkinchi shaharga taxminan 85,000 so’m. Poyezd yaxshi sovutilmaydi, stansiyalarda to’xtaganda esa havo aylanishi umuman to’xtaydi. Yozda juda isib ketadi. Afrosiyob - zamonaviy tezyurar poyezd. Soatiga 200 kmdan ziyod tezlikda harakatlanadi. Misol uchun, Samarqanddan Toshkentga ikki soatda yetib boradi. Biletlar narxi taxminan 280,000 so’m. Turistlar bilan gavjum bo’lgan bahor va kuz fasllarida biletlar tez sotilib ketadi. Biletlarni oldindan sotib olishni reja qiling. Internet orqali yoki tur-agentlar orqali olishingiz mumkin. Temir-yo’l kassalaridan ham sotib olish mumkin albatta. #uzbekistanrailways #visituzbekistan #uzbekistan #letsguide...
Read moreThe Tashkent train station, and Afrosiyab trains, offer the most overpriced, and outdated transportation in all of Uzbekistan. You are much better off taking the commuter buses that travel both internationally and nationally. 1) No digital signs announcing departures. 2) No escalator to the 2nd and 3rd platforms. 3) Ticket machines that are out of service. 4) Ticket lines that take no less than 45 minutes to get through. 5) A luggage storage that is down in the basement, and no help to get your luggage down or up the stairs. 6). Nobody helps you get your baggage on to the security belt, which is at knee heighth. Not everyone can lift their suitcase that high. 7) The train itself does not lower to the level of the platform, the steps are steep, you need help to get the luggage up the stairs. Once you are in the train, the passengers in "business class" are smoking out the windows and others are allowing their children to run up and down the aisles; nothing "business" about it. The station needs to be renovated for mobility impaired travelers, and even for travelers who simply cannot carry their suitcases up and down steep...
