Bãi biển Mỹ Khê là một trong những bờ biển đẹp nhất của miền Nam Việt Nam, là điểm thu hút khách du lịch bậc nhất của Quảng Ngãi. Bờ biển Mỹ Khê chạy dài 7km từ tịnh Kỳ đến Cổ Lũy. Cổ lũy cô thôn hay cổ lũy bắc cũng bị một dòng chảy cắt rời khỏi đất liền bời sông Kinh chạy dọc theo hướng Nam Bắc, chảy từ cửa Đại ra cửa Sa Kỳ. Thôn Cổ Lũy ở đây cũng khá đẹp nhờ con sông Kinh với các đầm dừa nước các rừng phi lao và các làng mạc rợp bóng dừa. Từ giữa thế kỷ 19 quan đại thần triều Nguyễn là Trương Đăng Quế xin về nghỉ hưu tại quê ông bên bờ sông Kinh và tự hào nói “Nhất Huế nhì đây- Cổ Lũy cô thôn”. Bãi biển Mỹ khê có hình lưỡi liềm với đường cong siết lại ở vụng An Vĩnh phía bắc, có đồi An Vĩnh chắn sóng. Bãi biển cát vàng phau, sạch sẽ, rợp bóng rừng dương, độ dốc của bãi biển thấp, do vậy ngày càng thu hút đông đảo khách đến đây tắm biển, du lịch.
