An absoloutey beautiful part of the world and stunning part of the Sussex downs. I have walked several dogs up here since I moved to the area in 2020 and the reason I give it 3 stars is that since lockdown and the increase of dogs its no longer somewhere I walk my puppy in training often. More of the trails have been widened due to increased foot traffic created by increased dog walkers. I wouldn't have a problem with dog walkers if they were all picking up their dog mess but they are not. Its so sad to see the natural environment disrespected like that and its a shame for the real proffessional dog walkers who do clean up after the dogs and respect the area. The council have put more dog mess bins at the start of the trail near hollingdean park however I think regular dog mess pickers and proper trails need to be put in for foot traffic because more and more of the land where nesting birds lay their eggs is being eaten into by new trails being created by dog walkers trying to avoid each other. If you have children I wouldn't advise it and don't think it's healthy for the dogs either especially towards Hollingdean. I would also like to suggest particular walking times for proffessional dog walkers so that local dogs like mine can also enjoy the trails. Its not as stress free anymore sometimes with so many packs of dogs and not all the dog walkers are polite but there are some brilliant ones up there who do a good job with the dogs and it can't be nice for anyone working in that environment every day also the amount of mess up there is a health hazard. I would put photos up but its nasty. Also during winter its just complete mud fest so I don't even entertain it unless the ground is dry. Hopefully something is done about it soon but I won't hold my breath. Regardless its still beautiful just watch...
