Royal Plaza Hotel — Hotel in Luanda Province

Its the only place I have ever stayed in 40 many decades of traveling, that you have to sign a paper on arrival acknowledging and agreeing of not brining any food or beverages to the room. ||||The reception staff is NOT friendly. their attitude is far from welcoming and if you expect a "Bom Dia"in the morning when you walk past the reception you will be disappointed. ||||On arrival you will find 2 300ml bottles of water in the room. They will not be replaced on a daily basis. So, if you stay longer then one day you are forced to order very expensive water trough room service., there are no drinking glasses in either the bath room or on the table.||||Don't have high hopes for a refreshing shower. ||a) it takes minutes to get a bit of warm water.||b) the shower head can not be attached on the wall...||c) the shower cubicle is rather small for an average european person||||Food:||If you find the Restaurant open, you will get basic food. ||||Breakfast:||average. but with fresh buns.||||Bar.||If you find the bar open on the 4th floor you can enjoy a well chilled...

I am currently staying at this hotel. I have another week and a bit that I need to stay here.||||On the first night I stayed here, my room was not ready. I stayed in room 108. At some point during the course of the evening, some arbitrary fellow opened up my room door. I yelled at him, and he went away - apologising. He was apparently staying in room 110 or 112, but his key worked on my door.||||There is no service. I work from early AM to late PM, so I forgo lunch during every day. The restaurant is only open at specific times. Apparently, they open for dinner at 18h00. However, this seems to be a guideline figure and there is no set time. So don't bank on it - one might be literally starving, but there is no way one can order a meal.||||My final gripe is that this specific hotel is incapable of arranging a shuttle for guests from the airport. Meaning that they leave their guests at the whims of unscrupulous private taxi operators from the Luanda airport to the hotel.||||Swak place....
