I was quite surprised by the high rating for this place, I can only attribute it to its location to the Belas Shopping Centre, and the nice gym and restaurant / outdoor bar onsite. The meals are good at bar/restaurant and the atmosphere is very nice, apparently they have live music on weekends which makes the place quite festive. Important to note that these are basically self-catering apartments, so no coffee/tea etc. that you would normally expect in a hotel, there is a shoprite checkers at Belas shopping centre down the road to get all the basic necessities. Just note it is not advisable to walk around in the evening even though it is within walking distance. The service in terms of servicing the room leaves a lot to be desired. During my 4 night stay , I have a strange man just open my locked door in the evening without even knocking, mumbled something about a technician and then disappeared when he saw me. Also upon check-in my room card did not work , so the receptionist just called the patrolling security guard who just opened the room without any further questions. Myself and fellow business travelers had 6 rooms in total , they all complained about the shower that you cannot get the adjustment right no matter how many times you tried and showering was an adventure/chore each evening; the rooms do not have standard kitchenware, I had 1 tablespoon , no teaspoons, 3 forks , 3 knives and other cutlery, the other rooms had other combinations. My room had no toilet rolls for the 1st 2 days, while some of the other rooms had no towels. During the public holiday none of the rooms were serviced. From what I am told there are far worse places to stay from other colleagues, hence the 3 stars...

Read moreRoom, Service, Location and Environment is good and safe.||Caused by covid-19, i spent 11 month (eleven!) there and i feel safe and protected.||The pool is still open and the sun is shining... :))||I am sure to come back early next year.||(Please see also my review here from November 2019)||||The reason for writing again and add on is not the hotel itself - my intension is to warn other people to go the nearby shopping centre 'Candando'.||||The management of that shopping centre is not been able to take care about the clients and their 'freedom'.||In front of the entry, there are sitting - since several month now - 4 mothers with all their children (i guess 3-15 years) and as soon as a client is coming from the direction of the hotel, the mamas are sending their children to ask for money and other goods.||....very aggressive and in a not acceptable way.||Some of them are waiting that the client is coming out after buying the goods - and then following up to the hotel...not stopping speaking begging etc etc.... ||...while the mamas are still sitting there in front of the shopping centre and talking / laughing with each other.||||Again:||I am 11 month here and NOTHING is dome from the management to stop that nightmare.||||Meanwhile nearly all the the 'long time guest' here at Colina do Sol are not anymore going to 'Candando Shopping Centre' but going the 10 minutes by foot to the huge 'Belas Shopping centre' - there is a huge Shoprite Supermarket inside - with prices which are 30% cheaper than at 'Candando shopping centre' ...and... you do not have these 'Begging nightmare' all time while...
