Travelling with friends and fMily i expected a warm welcome on a cold and windy day. During my 3 day visit the hotel did nothing to compliment the spectacular view of whales in the sea..The food was atrocious so resorted to having a picnic from a supermarket the next 2 nights. Overcooked or undercooked fish obviously frozen and reheated with half reheated frozen bread was not a good start||||Despite being the only residents in the hotel i was not allowed to use the gym without booking in advance..and when i did the floor was dirty and dusty||Half the machines didnt work and the jacuzzi was lukewarm..only the sauna worked well||The air conditioning heating didnt work so spent 2 nights in a cold room||||The breakfasts were pitiful..the staff stated breakfast is served 8-10 but only came down when they heard residents moving around and looked like they had just woken themselves||.i am aware of scarce resources but i cannot eat dry toast and cakes for breakfast and serve frosties to my children without even any ||bowls to serve it from||It would only take a slight effort to serve something slightly more intersting and sustaining for a day in the cold and rain ||||||Finally DO NOT GIVE THE STAFF YOUR CREDIT / Debit cards ...they will copy the numbers down and 3 digit security number on the back...and then say that it is government regulations to do this! This was after using the CHIP AND PIN DEVICE.||IF YOU HAVE TO STAY pay cash and dont stay too long||||Such a shame as it could be fantastic retreat...
Read moreWe chose this hotel because we wanted to stay as close as possible to Península Valdés and to have a good base for whale watching and a roundtrip through the area. The hotel "Las Restingas" has fulfilled our wishes well. It is located directly on the beach, from where the boats leave. The rooms are simple but adequately equipped, and everything worked despite warnings about water restriction challenges and toilet drain problems. The hotel is classified as a 3-star category and meets all the promises correctly. The price / performance ratio is adequate. The welcome was very friendly, and we even had the opportunity to put our car in the hotel car park.||The only points of criticism that we would like to mention: Firstly, the quality of the morning buffet is very bad. Secondly, we find it sad that there is no better hotel industry in this place which has so many unique natural resources. Even Las Restingas could attract a higher traveler segment by an upgrade. We understand in a way why many travelers prefer to stay in Puerto Madryn and take the trouble to travel a long distance to get to the peninsula.||Overall impression: Las Restingas does a good job overall and has...
Read moreI can forgive the somewhat tired facilities given the lovely location but there is no excuse for the lack of professional service in this hotel. It’s like they want to take the money and do as little as possible to enhance the customer experience. |Every part of the service was lacking in either professionalism or even interest ||The breakfast was average with things missing or run out with slow staff||As for using any other service we didn’t bother||The dining room was left untidy after lunch and the room brightly lit, not sure why anyone would dine here in the evening when there are livelier fun places in town ||The two stars are for the location on the beach and the housekeeping who provided a very clean ( if tired) room with nice big soft towels ||Shame this place doesn’t have more competition or new owners to make more of its enviable...
