This is the very first hotel I have stayed in here in Argentina so I don't have anything to compare it to. However I have traveled around South America, Europe and Japan. I was traveling here for work. To me this hotel was very basic. It had everything I needed (except a desk) and was clean but I was disappointed on a few points:|1. My view- into the middle of the building and other hotel rooms. I could barely see the sky and certainly wasn't worth ever looking out the window. I understand not every room can have an ocean view but some sort of view would have been nice. |2. Noise- if you decide to stay here BRING EAR PLUGS. I was on the first floor and very near the stairs. Two nights there were parties going on in the dining room until all hours and I could hear everything fairly clearly in my room. Thank god for my ear plugs. I could also hear many things going on in rooms around me- showers, toilets, crying babies, opening and closing doors, etc. The doors and walls are very thin here. ||Otherwise, the staff was very friendly. The breakfast was included and a nice variety of options. I also thought the bartender was excellent! Patricio was very knowledgeable about the wines, friendly and cheerful, and he spoke English which was nice for me. ||Overall, my stay here was fine but if I returned I might look for...
Read moreMy wife and I spent four nights at Hotel Iruna and enjoyed our stay there. Our room was fine and our bed was comfortable. Between the staffs' limited English and our limited Spanish, we were able to get by. The breakfast buffet offered many choices - there were a lot of sweet pastries - actually too many! ||||The best thing about the hotel, however, was its location. It is located right across the street from the beach! ||||On the negative side, the wifi was spotty but we worked through that. As a worse case, we went to the lobby to get connected.||||Tip #1: If you are a runner/walker, run on the esplanade along the beach. Although there is some elevation, the pavement is good. Away from the beach, the roads are crowned and the sidewalks are broken up. ||||Tip #2: There is fitness room on one of the upper floors. It not great but good enough to burn some calories and work up a sweat.||||Tip #3: Alongside the fitness room is a small open air patio - it is a good place to sit at twilight with a glass of wine. ||||The Hotel Iruna offers a comfortable bed for good value in a...
Read moreIt´s from the same company as the Costa Galana 5 Stars Hotel, pretty known from people in Mar del Plata as one of the most exclusive hotels in the city. ||Great service, with a tiny bar at the ground floor and a restaurant I wouldn´t recommend (not because I was there, I must reckon, but instead because they offer a buffet as an entrance and two options as a main course) where you would have an excellent breakfast. You have a spa, a gym and a balcony to get suntanned. No swimming pool. ||I would make a special recognition to the staff, mostly from bell boys during the day shift (I cant recall the name, I think it was Fernando), very kind and welcoming.||Also the maitre from the breakfast prove herself very helpful and attentive.||Rooms are maybe too little, but perhaps it´s up to the rate fee we chose. ||It is located two blocks away from the main Casino and half a block from the sea. It´s a great location if you like gambling or spending your time at the beach. ||In a general basis, I would return if I choose to go Mar del...
