This time of the year is off season for busy travel but visitors beware!!! Bathrooms are atrocious, food is extremely sub-par..(like microwave meals) And most importantly note the following: They will only take crisp American big bills 50/100s.. no singles or five, ten, or twenty dollar bills, and they have to be without creases. This town (Bariloche) believes moderate used American money is fake and or fraud ( How backwards from the US!! ) This unspoken rule is even the case at their banks so make sure you have enough Pesos. Also.. if they give you a receipt with a write up on the back of what your total is for the meal in Pesos vs US money..it will ALWAYS be more than the rate exchange!!! Thirdly, they don't do credit cards! Guess they get taxed or fee charged to death but they will ask if you have a debit card. We had an earlier experience where our debit card and pin were stolen so we said no. Follow where more of the people go.. next door to a place called 'Tage' and or if any restaurants you find are empty.. There's probably a good reason for it. This place (its restaurant) is bad and it should be a -5 star...

I first sat at a nice table close to a window but they moved me because it was too big for only one person and they were supposedly waiting for a reservation. I agreed to move and ordered a burger with fries and a beer. Food was ok, don't expect great, but I didn't feel quite right a couple of hours later, so something may have been wrong with it. Also, I didn't care at the moment but I didn't get what I ordered, they changed fries for onion rings and the beer was also different. Never got any napkins. The check wasn't clear, felt sketchy and I think they tipped themselves. Also they wouldn't take any kind or card. By the time I left, the place was already closed and the supposedly large group from the reservation...
Read moreStayed at Hotel Refugio Knapp for 5 nights. A good hotel located at the base of Cerro Catedral ski mountain. The Staff is excellent at this hotel…best part of the stay. In the Restaurant (Resto Knapp) the Staff (Licha, Renata, Maca, Tincho) are as warm & friendly as people can be! Super people! Great service, good food…best part of staying at the hotel! The room was nice & I would have given it 5 ⭐️, but the plumbing needs a little work (a minor detail). But, again, for me, the people and the way they treat their guests outweighs small little problems like the plumbing. Would definitely...
