Hostel Backpackers Eco Salta — Hotel in Salta

I reserved though booking.com which had a very positive review of this hostel, however I was soon disappointed. The rooms are comfortable enough, though the bathroom is separated by a plastic draw-across door (so not much privacy) and the shower also ends up soaking the entire bathroom. When I arrived 3 of the 4 beds had been used, and it took a day and a half to tidy them and to clean the bathroom. Breakfast is included but really it is more of a snack - with some miniscule bowls of cereal and some hard bread. There were at least a variety of drinks available. The worst part was the kitchen (photo attached). There was no bin, only a few pots and pans (two of which were enormous), no cutlery (apart from one dirty knife) nor utensils. The location is good, there is a spacious social/games area and the staff were really friendly and helpful, but apart from that there isn't much to recommend...

Llegamos un domingo por la tarde. Fue raro llegar, ya que pasamos por la "puerta" sin darnos cuenta; el cartel que hay en la calle es pequeño y la entrada es por una "galería" que a esa hora tenía la persiana baja. ||El chico de recepción fue atento, nos explicó donde estaba cada lugar del hostel y nos llevó a la habitación. ||En la habitación hacía MUCHISIMO CALOR!!! Enseguida prendimos el ventilador de pie pero nunca llegó a refrescarla ya que no entra aire por ningún lado. La única ventana que hay da al pasillo, el cual también es extremadamente caluroso (como todos los ambientes del hostel); también esa ventana está enfrentada a la cama y no hay cortina por lo que es imposible tenerla abierta ya que todo el que pasa te ve.||No nos habían dejado papel higiénico por lo que tuvimos que ir a pedirlo ni bien llegamos.||Entramos a la cocina para lavar un vaso y así como entramos queríamos irnos. El aspecto era sucio por donde la mires y había diversos olores concentrados ahí.||El desayuno...? Había café en un termo bastante sucio, jugo en una jarra de mal aspecto y pan en una panera... dulce? sólo para pocos... la mayoría de los que estábamos desayunando en ese momento (dentro del horario permitido) no teníamos nada...||La alfombra del comedor/desayunador... tb sucia... una aspiradora al menos podrían usar!!!||En la galería que está debajo del hostel hay dos locales de frituras... asique dejo a libre imaginación el olor que hay al entrar, y el olor que sube hasta el hostel...||Definitivamente no volvería... Nos quedamos una sola noche y fue bastante! Era insoportable el calor (imposible dormir, sumado al colchon, bastante duro)||El precio... $550 la hab privada doble... (dsp nos enteramos que por ese precio bien podríamos haber ido a algún hotel con...

Avoid this hostel at all costs. Moved and found alternative accommodation after only one night despite having already prepaid for more and not being able to get a refund. It has such potential to be a great place with a massive open communal space. The staff are okay, The kitchen is virtually unless there is not even a fridge and only a couple of utensils and pans. The 8 bed dorm has only 3 lockers one of which is broken, There are only 3 plug sockets in the room which means you either have to choose between charging items or plugging in a fan in an attempt to cool the...
