I selected a delicious looking salad, particularly based on the photo. It was supposed to come with an eggplant walnut dressing which sounded gourmet. It was similarly priced to the steaks. When it arrived it looked nothing like the picture art, just a simple salad without any dressing with basic salad ingredients. At first I thought I made the mistake by selecting the wrong item from the menu so I accepted responsibility. Then I got the bill and lo and behold I had been charged top dollar for the salad I thought I had ordered. So I called the waiter over and explained the situation, his response was astonishing “the mayonnaise that arrives on everyone’s table as an accompaniment to the bread every restaurant in Argentina serves standard with every order was what I was supposed to have used as the dressing on my fancy salad”. No amount of explanation would help this waiter, he was adamant that the free bread spread was in fact my gourmet salad dressing, the thing that made this spectacular salad so delicious and expensive. He argued for 20 minutes, I asked for the manager he said there was none on site. No staff member...
Read moreIf you have ever eaten good food then you will not want to eat here. The staff were friendly but there simply was not enough of them, meaning the service was atrocious. Food & Service are the 2 things required to have a good restaurant and this place had neither.
Our group of four had: Vegetable wok bowl, Chicken salad, Llama burger and Chicken aji. Every dish came up tepid, the vegetable wok only consisted of green peppers, onions, courgettes and onion rings(?!), the chicken salad was hardly a salad, chicken aji was completely flavourless, the llama burger was processed, papas fritas were hard in the middle.
It took us about 25 minutes to be served, 30 minutes to receive our drinks and about 45 minutes to receive our food. Food I can understand (if it's good quality) but the rest is simply unacceptable. The waiter was trying his best, but was practically juggling 20-30 tables on his own.
This place reeks of a restaurant that purely succeeds due to passing traffic and an attractive menu, resting on past success by providing mediocre service to well...
Read moreWe stopped in after arriving in Salta for the first time. We were visiting Argentina from the US. We were hoping to get a delicious beer and a hearty snack to hold us over until dinner which is usually served late in Argentina. It was not quite time for a full dinner but we were really hungry from traveling all day. Oh wow! What a nice feast of local food we had! We drank Salta beer and had a sampling of empanadas, tamale, and one other item that I can’t recall the name of. The owner and wait staff were so nice and welcoming. Our Spanish is not up to par but they were gracious and so accommodating. The owner recommended the perfect platter of local delights. He was very passionate about the quality and flavors of the food. I highly recommend this restaurant! I’m sure a full dinner and wine would be amazing there so we will try to go...
