Posada San Isidro is a welcoming hotel that is flexible, and expertly accommodates large groups well. Some rooms have kitchens which could be improved by the provision of some basic cooking utensils. However, when pots and pans are needed, the hotel obliges and supplies basic kitchen goods. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and well provisioned with soaps, shampoos, towels, extra blankets etc. staff is excellent. Polite, accommodating, flexible, generous, helpful, kind, thoughtful, communicative, and caring. Excellent location close to the train station and Main Street. Located near the train tracks but we hardly noticed the trains after a few days. Simple breakfast was welcome and more than adequate. Hot and cold safe water on tap all day in the breakfast room. I would stay here again for sure. Hotel has an outdoor pool which is well kept. Excellent value for money. Wifi best in lobby...
Read moreBring the right expectation set . . . . Posada San Isidro is a simple place to stay, not a luxury hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean and quiet, and ours (at least) has an attached kitchenette/dining area with a fridge, microwave and dishes. You can buy some groceries at the market around the corner and settle in for a few comfortable days in San Isidro. In keeping with its simple nature, the only in room amenity is a bar of soap--no shampoo, no lotion, and no in-room coffee. The breakfast is also simple--cereal, breads, and a meat and cheese tray--but ample enough. There is no restaurant, but there are several cafes in easy walking distance. The staff is friendly, helpful, and bilingual. Do ask for a room far from the train if that sort of thing bothers you. WiFi available, but both spotty and...
