Las Lengas Hotel — Hotel in Ushuaia

I really enjoyed our stay here. Keep in mind Ushuaia is a small tourist town so this hotel can't be compared to fancy New York City or L.A. hotels, hence the 3 star rating. Nonetheless, the hotel looks newly renovated so so of the old reviews complaining about peeling wallpaper or lack of elevator is probably out dated. It's true the restaurant is a bit busy so service may not be up to someone's standards, but food is inexpensive (like $10 USD for a large pizza and $3 USD for burger and fires) and fairly tasty. The place seems popular among guests and probably locals.

Our rooms were clean and services are reasonably good. People who complain there is no voltage in outlets must have not traveled to hotels where they cut power when you leave the room and remove card key from the cradle. Yes, there are outlets in the rooms, so you don't need to unplug anything. The review that complains about reuse towels also probably never traveled far, since almost every hotel I have been do have been doing this for a long time now.

The guy at the front desk in the mornings is super helpful. Not talkative but whatever we needed, he was able to help. The woman at the desk in evenings is also helpful, but due to our language barrier, she may seem like she is not attentive, but we survived. In all, the location is more periphery, but the view and the space help make up for the walk. I don't know why someone will pay to take a taxi since the whole town is literally one main street that starts as soon as you walk down the hill and goes 1.2 Km across. If I took a taxi, I wouldn't even know where to stop.

One thing I do miss is not having a table inside the rooms. We brought take out (the pizza and burger and some wine) but had difficulties placing the food, but that's not that big of deal.

In all, I feel fortunate we found this place and really enjoyed the three nights...

Ubicación: muy buena para lo que es temporada de verano. Estas a pocas cuadras del centro. La vista desde el lobby y habitaciones es correcta. Servicio: muy precario. Son muy lentos todos. La gente de limpieza limpiaba cuando se le cantaba. Luego de desayunar (8am), uno vuelve al cuarto para cambiarse a penas termina y nos encontramos con que estaban limpiando aún cuando habíamos marcado que NO. Le pedimos que viniera mas tarde y se fue con mala gana. Volvimos al hotel a las 16 y no habían limpiado, recien cuando entramos luego de trekkings largos nos llaman a la puerta para limpiar, nos pareció una sobrada. 3.Restaurante: PÉSIMO. Los mozos lentísimos. La comida carísima para lo que es (ensaladas clásicas, pizzas clásicas, bebidas clásicas, minutas). La carta es super precaria, pocas opciones siempre lo mismo. No tiene opciones para las personas celíacas, vegetarianas, vegana o intolerantes a algún alimento, te dicen que te tenes que comprar tu leche en el super. Pasamos Fin de Año y si no fuese por un grupo de brasileros hubiese sido una pesadilla. Gastamos 40.000 pesos por persona para solo comer pizzas y empanadas y LOS GUSTOS CLÁSICOS al igual que las bebidas, jamás especificaron eso, nos dijeron que era comida LIBRE y no fue así. Nunca pagué una pizzita tan cara en mi vida, en Buenos Aires por ese precio me como dos platos de SALMÓN. No solo eso, sino que eran las 22.30 y todavía no traían las empanaditas de entrada, ae acercaba la hora de fin de año. Nos tuvimos que parar nosotros los comensales a repartir pizzas de nuestra mesa porque habia gente que todavia no había comido nada, deberían devolvernos la plata dado que trabajamos nosotros mas que los mismos mozos. Todos mal predispuestos, te decían “estamos atrasados” EN FIN DE AÑO. DESASTRE. Levantamos la queja y te responden con que “los del hotel y los del restaurante son dos mundos opuestos”, inútiles que no se dan cuenta que igual los dejan con imagen muy negativa a ellos también. NOS ESTAFARON. Teniendo un restaurante amplio, veías a la gente haciendo picnics en el lobby, jamás lo vi en ningún hotel ni standard ni de nivel. Les faltaba una tele y el partido de fútbol. Muy fea esa imagen. Nos quejamos y nos respondieron muy light y que estaba correcto hacerlo, no sabían qué decirte, muy mala la recepción, con excepción de uno de los señores que siempre estuvo en el turno mañana, lamentablemente no se su nombre, pero siempre fue muy amable y correcto y muy resolutivo, todos los demás un desastre y poco experimentados. Habitaciones: linda vista pero demasiado chicas. Demasiado calurosas, tenes que dormir con las ventanas abiertas o te sofocás. Los baños no tienen retractor, por ende el olor nunca se va y se extiende a las habitaciones, ni siquiera abriendo la ventanas se logra ya que es solo 1. Se hace nauseabundo. No hay donde enchufar los celulares, ni siquiera en las mesas de luz al lado de las camas, tenes que dejar el celular alejado o en el baño. NO tiene amenities. Ni piletas, ni sala de juegos, ni sala de estar, ni gym, NADA. Todos se acumulan en el lobby y se tiran en los sillones cual living de casa porque te ahogas en los cuartos chicos.

CONCLUSIÓN: Hay mejores hoteles. Con mas amenities y mejores vistas y mejor servicio. No lo recomiendo. Haría un paneo general de hoteles y/o...

Does this place give you a place to sleep? Yes. Beyond that, this place isn't good. I'm surprised with the high reviews this place seems to be getting. ||When you walk into the hotel lobby, it boasts a phenomenal view. As soon as you go to the hallways to the rooms, reality sets in. The rooms are old and outdated. I had to stay here as this was the hotel chosen by G Adventures before my expedition to Antarctica. I collect my keycard and am told I have a roommate. The keycard doesn't work. The room doesn't have twin beds but instead has one bed. I inform reception who then gets me a separate room. The room had one charging outlet in the washroom. The washroom layout is a bit weird and awkward making walking in and out a bit of a task. The room doesn't offer any glasses to drink water out of, so you're forced to use the water bottles in the minibar. ||All in all, unless you have to stay here because of your tour company, I'd avoid this place.
