Louvre Home Sevan — Hotel in Sevan

Given this place 3 stars for 4 main reasons: Despite being told that we were sisters "oh you don't look alike" the owner guy twice asked "but she's your girlfriend, right?" which was a little over the top because who cares if that's true?? Room did not look like the photos on booking.com. Yes it was clean etc but the window was a joke- high up on the wall, tiny, with no curtain which meant a super bright light shone in all night. He encouraged us to cancel the booking (free cancellation until tomorrow)and pay him in cash and then they'd provide breakfast for free "it's amazing, read the reviews". Tbh it wasn't worth waiting around for, just a few eggs, bread, and fruit. We read Google reviews in depth after point number 1 and saw that he had asked people for their booking confirmation number which ultimately led to him seeing the pin and being able to write his own reviews. This didn't happen to us (as we had cancelled for the breakfast) but prior to that he did ask to look at the booking number on my phone so....seems a bit sketchy.

Review Title: Misleading Listing – Not a Hotel, Unpleasant Stay with Kids

We had a very disappointing experience at this property, which was described as a hotel but turned out to be more of a homestay or dorm setup. We arrived around 12:30 am (over 12 hours after our actual check-in time) with two tired children, expecting some basic courtesy. Instead, the staff was unwelcoming , the following morning insisting we check out sharply at 12 noon, giving no consideration to the late-night check-in or the fact that we had kids with us.

The worst part was when my child politely asked for a bottle of water, and the staff rudely responded, “Check out first, then we’ll give you water.” Absolutely unacceptable behavior — especially toward a child.

We had chosen this place based on the positive reviews, but now we genuinely doubt their authenticity. The overall atmosphere was cold and unaccommodating, and this is not the kind of experience any family wants while on holiday.

There’s no intercom or phone service to contact staff; we had to go downstairs repeatedly to ask for even the simplest things. We checked in around midnight, yet they began knocking on our door early the next morning, insisting we check out exactly on time. It felt rushed, unwelcoming, and inconsiderate. Many claims on their listing are inaccurate or exaggerated. For the price charged, the service and facilities were abysmal.
