There's no doubt that the modern airport hotel is a thing of great convenience.||However, there's a price to be paid for this, and sometimes near enough is good enough.||Unless you have a near-bottomless corporate expense account, sometimes you just want to save a few dollars and spend them somewhere else on your journey. ||It wasn't that long ago, in 2018, that Adelaide opened its first airport hotel, the 165-room Atura. It was the first in the country to be connected directly to a terminal building.||However, I've found another perfectly acceptable property within spitting distance of Adelaide airport. I worked out that you’d save at least $50 on a room here compared to the Atura.||The Best Western is a clever and sensible conversion of a classic old motel into a comfortable modern accommodation within easy reach of the terminal. The former beige-brick 1970s Aviator’s Lodge reopened in August 2024 as the thoroughly refreshed Best Western Adelaide Airport, falling into the ‘mid-scale’ range of accommodation. ||Yes, it's outside the airport precinct but easily accessible by public transport or a dedicated shuttle at a reasonable extra cost. ($14pp or $20/couple). A lunchtime Uber is about $14. ||My room (9) was also an accessible suite. It was large and comfortable, with everything you could possibly want for a brief overnight pre-flight stay. Double-glazed windows and soundproof doors ensured the room stayed quiet. The superbly comfortable bed, massive flat-screen TV, hot shower, minifridge, and breakfast and bar were just a hop and a jump across the driveway. ||The restaurant menu offers generous pub-style dishes at reasonable prices. Steaks, pizzas, burgers, and chicken are featured, along with local wines and Coopers Ale on tap. What else could you want? ||In almost 30 years of staying at and reviewing hotels, the thing that often lingers in my memory beyond the carpet and wall hangings is the quality of the staff and the warm feelings they leave you with long after you've checked out. This was certainly the case with the Best Western Adelaide Airport, and I want to thank ever-cheery Millie and her team for a most...

I had a good travel week in Adelaide and met so few amazing people. My vacation was total unplanned, as I love just packed and drove to wherever fits me good. I used to have a travel guide- *LonelyPlanet”. well, I skipped and randomly picked and walked in to where I can all photos In words before submission due to John.P (UK). Yes, this time of the year I pick beach - Hanley Beach or surrounding. I walked in like normal tourist with a humble request for 1 night stay with exhaustion and tired after long night drive. Well, I asked ”one night only” at Parador Inn at West Beach, Adelaide. It’s amazing and privileged to be served by the humble owner who prepared a beer for me to welcome me to Parador Inn. As I told him and his wife, only such gesture offered by 5 or 6 stars super luxury hospitality business - Mayfair, Intercontinental, Hilton. I was so impressed. Well, the room absolutely met my requirement and the space is massive, lighting and the interior arranging and settings are perfect for an Inn. I have the friendly, very zen style of dining area. I was first impressed and touched how they both kicked off such small project turned into a decade hospitality business. The breakfast was specially prepared by the chef aka Wife of business owner who came from Russia. We talked, and we all had great moment and memories for 1 night then upgraded to 2 more nights, with affordable rates $168 p.night. What more an unexpected stay turned out to me a paradise to be. This is my intention to write an review to place it into my Column in Europe. This is a tiny special news and gift for both humble entrepreneurs. I remember it & will...

As a business traveller I get to experience many accomodation services.

Throughout my extensive travel to multiple states across Australia, I can genuinely say that Parador is a stand out place. - so much so, that this is my 2nd time here and when I’m in Adelaide, this is where I will always stay.

Opposite the airport, Parador offers a convenience, however convenient is not where it ends. Parador is a beautifully presented, modern stay with an eye for style and attention to detail. Natasha and John (owners) offer a personalised service that you don’t get with other accomodation places. Very friendly, personable and whilst staying at Parador, you are not just a commodity, you feel valued and respected whilst staying here.

The overall service at Parador is impeccable, the food is excellent, fantastic prices and the rooms are exceptionally clean, well presented, equiped with all the mod cons. - the coffee is also excellent.

The room prices are very reasonable and there is a great range from standard room to terrace and outdoor privilege private outdoor spaces.

I would highly recommend a stay at Parador, Natasha and John are wonderful people and you can tell that this is much more than a motel business, to them, they are personally invested in providing the best of the best. Thanks...

The near to the airport is a bonus. I didn't hear the planes landing or taking off during the evening. Nice room. Had the basics. The bed was super comfy for me, as were the pillows. Best, in fact, in many months. The shower room was clean, bright and the water pressure was great. I liked the toiletries provided. The tv is a good viewing size. Couldn't access streaming channels although the wifi worked really well. Plenty of parking available. Air-conditioning worked well. One of the blinds was broken, letting in light. There's no microwave or vending machines. After hours check in process was easy as was key return.

We stayed overnight to take an early morning flight. Office was open until 9pm. They will leave out a key for a later check in. They have a drop box for keys when you check out early. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Premises are 5 minutes from airport. Buildings are old, but are solid brick and fully renovated. Rooms are very quiet, double glazed windows. Rooms are small but modern and clean. Room has tv, kettle and fridge. Nice large shower cubicle. On site laundry facilities. Security gate closed at night for security. Bar and restaurant on site. Parking is adequate. Price was reasonable.
