Have stayed here for many years with several friends in the largest cabin being the Lodge. We were advised last year this was due to be renovated but due to COVID this was put back. All other smaller cabins are lovely and renovated. New safari tents are up and travel is more popular than ever in WA due to everyone holidaying at home. Yet we have come back again to find the most expensive cabin in this park still not renovated. It furnished with mis matched second hand old furniture including wobbly/broken dining chairs, old, kitchen has very little items to use no chopping knives, not enough cutlery for the amount of people it can hold. Chipped cups, outdated moldy showers, mold smell in the old kitchen, no bin bags for a 4 day stay. Wooden chairs outside no longer even have cushions to sit on just hard wood slats. Not managements fault they are friendly and are obviously bound by funds from the RAC to do these upgrades. Come on RAC you would be making a fortune off travel in WA and it’s time to upgrade your most expensive accommodation at this park to be like all the ones you have already done. For us we will be looking for somewhere else to stay for over $1300.00 that is upkept and well presented to be worth that sort of money. Disappointing as we have seen the work to the other RAC parks across WA and this one seems to be a last resort for the biggest cabin RAC charges the...
Read moreStayed here 7 nights to explore the Margaret River area. Excellent park for our purposes. A couple of km out town which is ideal for a walk or a short bike ride. Turn down Carters Rd and a 500 mt gravel track leads you to the entrance to the park. This park provides all your caravanning needs without all the bells and whistles and accompanying pricing. The sites are large with plenty of space between sites, flat level and with easy access and space for reversing. Abulution blocks are clean modern and regular cleaned with good water pressure. Rare park that you can have a camp fire to 10pm outside of fire restriction period. Organise a firepit and wood from the office. Staff were friendly. This being an eco park there are lots of trees with those using solar only will have difficulty chasing the sun. 2 other c/parks in M/River are tetris/sardine like being the reason we liked it out here. There is a very chilled relaxed vibe. Easy walk into town. Bike track into town as well as well as mountain bike track area close by. Follow Carters Rd right out to Caves Rd where most wineries are located on. While at M/River defintely visit Lake Cave (instgramable) & Jewel Cave. The two best 'local' caves. Lots of bird life at this c/park and can highly recommend this park as first choice for your M/River visit. Travel well...
