Had a fantastic stay at Cape Trib Farm from start to finish. The owners, Jeremy and Merran, were fantastic and extremely helpful, from giving us great advice prior to our arrival about what to do, where to eat and what to expect in the area, as well as accommodating squeezing us into their fruit-tasting experience given we were arriving at the farm just at the last minute before it started. The fruit tasting was a great introduction to the entire experience of staying there, sampling 10+ exotic and really unique tropical fruits which all were a first for us. The tasting was followed by a tour of the farm which was super interesting, and Merran is so passionate about the farm and it's unique products that it really made for a truly great experience. The tasting and tour was followed by a delightful 2-night stay in their absolutely brilliant cottages, with a unique setup of a full living/dining/cooking area outdoors while enjoying a very comfortable sleep in the well-appointed indoor bedroom/bathroom. They've done a great job of creating a little lap of luxury in the middle of the rainforest with a great mix of comfort (flyscreens/ceiling fan/aircon - excellent!) but also outdoor living to enjoy the atmosphere. Also enjoyed the immense exotic fruit plates we got each morning, which were a tasty way to start the day along with fresh ground coffee and continental breakfast - all prepared alfresco. Hands down the best place to say in Cape Trib and a great experience - you're in great hands with Merran and Jeremy (and Lucy the...
Read moreHands down the best accomodation in Cape Tribulation! My partner and I stayed at Cape Trib Farm - Fruit Tasting and B&B in August for a long weekend - it was absolute heaven I can't recommend this place enough.
From the moment we arrived Sam, Jeremy and Merran made us feel totally welcome - we loved hearing their stories about growing up in Cape Trib and learning about the area.
The delightful b&b accomodation was private and had everything we needed to be self sufficient during our stay. We loved the early morning delivery of tea to our room, the tropical fruit platter and Merran-made jam was such a nice change from our usual routine.
Sam especially took great care of us - sharing his knowledge of the history of the farm, dropping us off to the Ocean Safari when we missed our ride, telling us all the local spots to go for dinner and calling a head to organise a crock tour for us - a total legend thank you!
I really appreciated the limited wifi connectivity which is only available in the main common area (more than enough for the odd post on instagram or whatsapp to family) it just forced me to disconnect and get the digital detox I was craving.
We stayed 3 nights in total and then moved onto to an eco lodge which was twice the price - in total honesty Cape Trib Farm Stay is the only place you need to book when visiting the area. It is great value, on a picturesque property and is family owned and operated - what more could you want!
Thank you - we...
Read moreWe spent 2 nights at Cape Trib Farm and have not felt so utterly well rested in a long time. We stopped in at sights on the way there, but chose to stop and 'smell the rainforest ' once we arrived. ||The hosts and their staff are the most wonderfully kind and friendly people- we felt privileged to be there, on a working tropical fruit farm. Our cabin (stand alone) was clean, beautifully presented and there was no TV to distract from the experience. The unfamiliar forest sounds kept me awake the first night, but it was beautiful to rest and just listen. The second night- I was gone. The tropical fruit breakfast each morning was absolutely amazing. Large pieces, still in their skin, for you to dissect, ask questions about, and savour new flavours and textures- my new favourite fruits are soursop and sapodilla. Homemade exotic fruit jam on toast with tea/ coffee to finish off. YUM. (Breakfast is on a patio area, next to the communal kitchen-clean up your own dishes, bring & cook your own lunch,dinner-we met other lovely guests from all over but you can be as private or engaged as you wish). We walked to Whet for a truly good fine dining dinner(casual clothes). I simply cannot express how much we loved this place/experiece- truly special. Thank you Jeremy and Merran for sharing your piece...
