Cattle Camp Hotel Charleville — Hotel in Charleville

Stayed here for a night, staff were friendly and accomodating. Probably the comfiest bed I’ve slept in in a hotel/motel type accomodation. You can park your car right in front of your unit too! Aircon heater worked great. The wifi is great works fast!! And OMG the water pressure almost shot me out of the shower it was great!!

Unfortunately there was a couple downsides the towels that were provided were visibly dirty although the staff were more than happy to exchange them and apologised for it! The room was also generally dirty as well, the bathroom sink etc looked like it hadn’t been wiped down. The TV remote didn’t work properly only the channel up/down button and off button functioned the rest of the buttons such as volume and settings and channel list didn’t work. I just chose not to watch tv so that didn’t matter in the end. Location wise it out the back of the pub and bottle o, not much lighting at night i’d just be cautious.

Overall it was a “get what you pay for” accomodation and did me fine...

Decaying. The motel accommodation needs attention. Ours was so bad we did not frequent the hotel as we had no expectation that would be any better. Things that were a problem: the public stairs up to the motel deck were rotten, wobbling, and needed new wooden bannisters, long screws and a repaint. These should be condemned by any half decent health and safety officer. Inside our room, a hole in the wall from a door knob, needed repairing; a window would not move, curtains were falling off hooks, there were dirty floors all over, but underneath the beds the floor was full of junk and filthy; tiles were dirty and cracked in the shower recess and need replacing. The bed had a sheet thrown over the mattress, not tucked in or evened out, and a Doonah thrown over that to cover the mess. Careless. Untidy. Sloppy. Everything needs sterilising. If you’re a backpacker and thinking of working here, please do not. My friends and I lasted a week working here, due to the owner being so rude and arrogant. The way customers are spoke to is appalling, I’ve never seen anything like it. He belittled us and spoke down to us constantly. He is notoriously known for how unpleasant he is, and known for the amount of backpackers that pass through here, he cannot keep any staff members for longer than a month. We travelled quite far and spent quite a bit of money on transport for this job as it sounded like the perfect set up (too good to be true). I cannot recommend Charleville enough as a place and all of the locals couldn’t be nicer, it’s unfortunate our time was cut short here because...
