WE LEFT A FULL 24 HOURS EARLY!! Paid a hefty sum to stay 2 nights in a so called glamping tent. Arrived in pouring rain on Friday 22/3/24 to be told that we couldn’t drive up to our accommodation. Instead we had to park our car on the side of the road and drag our ice box through a muddy bog to get it to glamping tent 4. We then had to run through a mud bog several times to get the car unloaded. Weather can’t be helped but well drained, gravel walkways would have prevented this. The camp kitchen for the Wilderness Safari Tents is disgusting. It’s a lean too hut built beside what we discovered on Saturday was a classroom for visiting weekend school groups. The fridge was disgusting. You had to tramp though 6 inches of mud and water to get to it (AGAIN WHERE ARE THE GRAVEL PATHS OR WALKWAYS GUYS???) and the oil trap bucket underneath the flat top BBQ hasn’t been emptied in god knows how long. You could smell rancid oil from the other side of the camp kitchen. The showers & toilet block for the Safari tent area were pretty average too. In the 24 hours we were there it wasn’t cleaned once and the floor was covered in sand and mud tracked in with the heavy rain. The tent itself is really nice but it’s been stuffed full of bunk beds and ends up being quite cramped. Removing just 1 set of bunks would have meant we could sit at a table inside out of the weather instead of on our balcony in pouring rain. You’d think sitting on the balcony would be really pleasant and it was when it wasn’t pouring. The balcony in about 2 inches longer than the canopy of the tent so in pouring rain the water splashes onto the very narrow balcony and up your legs and there’s no possible way to avoid your legs getting wet. We ended up moving one of the two sets of bunk beds to access the double power point in the tent. Gee, I wonder who thought putting a set of bunk beds over the top of the floor mounted double power point was a good idea?? On Saturday the rain stopped but we were woken by cars and buses from 7am because the Safari tents back onto the main road!! After returning from a walk we found ourselves in the middle of a school camp!! We had 20 kids and their teachers shouting instructions and setting the kids tasks just 100m from our tent. We watched them run races in front of our balcony and conduct scavenger hunts/tasks around our tent and others. The real kicker in all of this is that if we’d paid $37 for an unpowered camp site we would have had a far better camp kitchen, better shower and toilets, no school classroom, a better position and a far better experience. Don’t be fooled into thinking you’re getting a better experience in a wilderness safari tent. They’re a complete waste of money. Save $80+ dollars per night and get a non powered camping site. We left a full 24 hours early because it just wasn’t as advertised and the extra money we paid was an insult for what was an inferior experience compared to the facilities and position the campers had for just...

We booked two nights – one powered site and one unpowered – but had to check in twice because only one night was initially registered. Even though we booked both nights together, just on different sites, the system only recognized the first. So we had to go back to reception the next day to check in again. Completely unnecessary and poorly organized. The envelope we received at check-in only contained information for the first night, even though both nights were part of the same booking.
We tried contacting reception to confirm which site we’d be on for the second night, but no one was reachable — not by phone, not in person. We only got voicemail. The same thing happened when we tried calling the kayak rental number — long wait, then voicemail. No one seems to be reachable in this entire resort, which is unacceptable given how many people are staying here.
The camp is really overcrowded. There are 12 showers for women, all located near reception, for what feels like hundreds of guests. The toilets are constantly dirty and overcrowded. There are no hooks to hang your bag or towel, no soap at the sinks, and no paper towels — both were already empty by 2:40 PM yesterday and still not refilled by 6:50 AM this morning. That’s over 16 hours without basic hygiene supplies. Cleaning is clearly insufficient. There were even queues in front of the toilets because people had to wait.
The kitchen was equally disappointing. For the number of guests, there were only two knives, one spoon, one small spoon, two forks, and a single pot. No stove, just a barbecue oven. There was no dish soap and no kitchen towels available, making it nearly impossible to clean up properly.
The woman at reception was arrogant and unfriendly during check-in and seemed eager to get rid of us. That attitude reflects the general feeling here: you don’t feel welcome.
The only nice thing here is the kangaroos. But even that is spoiled by the behavior of some guests, who go far too close to the animals — even stepping behind the fence to approach them. No staff member seems to monitor or intervene, which is irresponsible and potentially dangerous.
We also tried the pizza from the on-site restaurant — very small for $20, and quite average, possibly frozen. The beer, however, was good: $10 per schooner. Food service ends at 8 PM on weekends and 7:30 PM on weekdays, which feels far too early considering the number of guests and the remote location.
We wanted to cancel our second night, but according to their policy, the refund is zero — so we stayed.
In my opinion, this setup is unacceptable. With so many guests, the toilets and showers need to be cleaned far more often, basic amenities must be improved, and wildlife interactions must be properly supervised. I would not recommend this...
Read moreHaving a fabulous spur of the moment family holiday booked through the @Wotif App. Love booking my holidays through these guys always a bonus to be had. My destination of choice this time around is The Habitat Noosa. We are Glamping. In 2 separate Glamping tents. We have ensuites included. Which has been awesome for the Old people aka Ninny & Pa(mum & dad). The children have appreciated it too. No trips to the toilet blocks for us. I love that it’s eco friendly. Animals at our glamp step. Kangaroos including mum with a Joey. Monitor Lizard who is a bit of a character. Ducks & Australian Native Birds & Bugs. Bring your choice of bug protection mine this time is Bushes. Full coverage I need the bugs love my skin. I’m currently sitting in the Carootha Bar area. Happy hour was at 2pm to 4pm everyday. If you’re NOT happy when you arrive at the bar you will be just give every staff person a smile. 2 hours happy hour is a bonus of happy lol. The staff are awesome. We are having a great time & they are all working hard to make it a great experience for all of us. Even if your having a shitty day smile be Happy 😃 The reception staff have the best job they are in the coldest aircon & the best Wifi. I’m sure they make lots of friends especially with the other staff who aren’t so privileged to snag this role. Really busy now tonight. Drinks are flowing food is being devoured as I write this. The atmosphere is great music. Families chatting. Patrons ordering staff reciprocating with the best customer service. Like all businesses there can always be room for improvement so my suggestions are to enhance everyone’s future stay as follows:-1. An area where the children can swing & climb maybe a cubby house incorporating a climbing wall nets & slide Definitely a pool or lagoon area plus nets in the existing natural water area for safety of wondering & exploring younger children or a life guard?! 3.Promote your tours more by sending existing guests a sms of what yours have available bookings for the day New dryer machines change of existing industrial brand) An open shelf or cupboard in the ensuite area as there is alot of dead space in there and extra storage would be fab. Kmart is great for homeware products or any cheap retailer Signs positioned for young children to warn of wild animals…..look DONT touch unless the animal gives you permission lol Microwaves near mini bar fridge in tent would be handy especially for mums with bubs & toddlers We are staying for 8 days and are having a great trip making great memories with ourselves daughter & grandbabies 6, 5 & 4. Met a lovely couple who have been heading to this destination for 40 years. They have bought their children & NOW there grandchildren. How special is that. They said the place has been newly renovated which they love…..maybe they should...
