The Everglades boat tour itself was terrific and we had a great time with Skipper Peter (Legend). Peter was informative, engaging and showed class expertise throughout the tour. We enjoyed his enthusiasm and much respect for nature.
However, a good experience was completely ruined by poor customer service. The man (medium, wavy hair) at the counter of the CoothadaBar was rude when I made a request for some extra sauce. He gave no response, attended to someone else, turned around, poured sauce onto a plate and threw it on the counter very rudely.
The worst part of the day was when we went to the front for the 3pm coach departure and the bus had already left. There was no roll call and we saw a bus leaving in front of us despite it still being 3pm (we had checked the time). Note that we actually came to the front 10 minutes earlier but there was no one there, which is why we went back in for some shelter. When we went to the reception to check if the bus had actually gone, the receptionist told us it was coming in another 5-10 minutes. However, when we told her we saw a bus leave, she checked with other staff, who confirmed it actually already left and that the next coach is at 5pm. She was incredibly unempathetic and unhelpful. She did not offer any other services or a taxi number. It is disappointing that the bus left before it even hit 3:01pm and didnât check to see if anyone was missing but itâs equally as disappointing to receive such poor customer service after the fact. Sadly, we can take it as a reflection of the way this company views and treats people.
We had paid a substantial amount to come on this tour. Transport being included was one of the selling points but this was completely disregarded and was not a service provided to us as promised. Due to this, we had to order ourselves a taxi that costed over $60, which is an expense we should...
Read moreWell, mates, grab your sunnies and hold onto your hats because our trip to the Everglades was an absolute ripper! Picture this: the sun blazing down, a bunch of girls in bikinis doing their best mermaid impressions, and wildlife that could make David Attenborough weep with envy.
We kicked things off with a refreshing swim in the water, feeling like a bunch of Australian legends. Just as we were getting our splash on, what do we see? A koala! Yes, you heard that right! A bloody koala, casually jumping in and doing laps around us like it was training for the next Olympics. I mean, who knew they were such naturals in the pool? Our newfound furry friend must have thought we were a bunch of slow-motion turtles.
After our aquatic escapade and a good laugh at our own expense, we headed back to the brewery. Let me tell you, we got as drunk as a kangaroo on a school trip! I reckon we put a few brews awayâenough to make even the most stoic kangaroo do a double backflip. The atmosphere was electric, and the laughter echoed louder than a bunch of cockatoos at dawn.
Dinner was a feast fit for a king (or a hungry koala). We devoured our meals like we hadnât seen food in a week. Afterward, we staggered outside and found the perfect tree for a post-dinner snooze. But waitâthis wasnât just any tree; it had a drop bear in it! If thatâs not a true Aussie experience, I donât know what is. As we drifted off to sleep, we kept one eye open, half-expecting the drop bear to make a move. Spoiler alert: it didnât.
So, if youâre looking for a wild adventure filled with bikinis, swimming koalas, and a brewery experience thatâll have you laughing till you cry, the Everglades is where you want to be. Just watch out for the drop bearsâthey donât take kindly to snorers! Cheers to the best trip...
Read moreGlamping at its Finest â A Magical Experience! We booked a Paperbark Glamping Tent for two nights, and it was an absolutely fantastic place to stayâone of the best experiences weâve ever had.
Thoughtful and Friendly Staff From the start, the staff were warm, welcoming and accommodating. I had requested a tent with an open view, and they happily arranged one for us. It made such a difference to wake up to that serene landscape. The bistro staff were just as lovely, answering all my questions with patience and genuine kindness. The food was amazing, and my husband loved the local beer! (We still talk about it!)
Excellent Amenities with Personal Touches The tent had everything we needed and more. There was a large bottle of spring water and two cartons of milk in the fridge, which was so thoughtful. What really stood out were the extra warm blankets and hot water bottles: such a cozy touch that most hotels wouldnât even think of. We felt so cared for.
Nature, Peace and Pure Bliss The most unforgettable part was, without doubt, the surroundings: lush grasslands, the tranquil lake, the forest breeze and kangaroos hopping all around us. We woke up at 5am on both mornings to catch the sunrise over the lake, watching ducks swim by and listening to the chorus of birds. It felt surreal like we stepped into a dream.
I spent the days doing absolutely nothing but chilling, sipping tea or coffee and soaking up the views. I even brought my plush bears with me. Theyâre my emotional support, and it made me so happy to relax with them in such a peaceful place.
This glamping getaway has become one of my most treasured memories. Iâve already started recommending it to my friends, and Iâd love to come back again one day. Thank you for creating such a...
