We stayed at Kerrie's and Phil's place for 6 nights and have been quite lucky to get the blue room on the first floor with a veranda a nice view on the Peron National Park. The rooms are clean and very functional, i.e. everything that is necessary is available (A/C, kitchenette, WIFI, document box, USB chargers, breakfast, etc.). In the afternoons, when the wildlife from the park (incl. emus and different types of kangaroos) come out of for a drink at the water source that is installed at the B&B, the guest are invited to take a look and feed the animals with carrots which the owners provide. Both are very kind and lovely people who are always up for a chat and to provide guidance what to do when in Shark Bay. Also it is great to see that sustainability has been considered when the place was designed. There is a PV system installed on the roof and there even is a worm farm for certain types of kitchen waste. We recommend a stay in this accomodation more than other places in Denham and will definitely book it again when we happen to be back...
Read moreOn the Deck @ Shark Bay provides splendid accommodation! We enjoyed three nights in the 'blue room' which was spacious, comfortable, immaculate and very peaceful with a private balcony. Phil and Kerrie are wonderful hosts - so welcoming and kind. Phil was very helpful assisting us with our scheduled trips out and with restaurant recommendations - nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast provisions were extensive and very generous. We really appreciated the routine of ordering provisions the day before and being able to prepare them in our own time - there is a full outdoor kitchen in which to do so. Keen walkers we found the location of the property perfect for a short walk into town in the evenings - we dined two nights at The Old Pearler (not to be missed it's great!). Roos regularly come down in the evening for snacks at sunset - just magical. We loved the sense of community in Shark Bay - everyone was so lovely and friendly. All in all a wonderful trip - a big thank you to Phil and Kerrie for...
Read moreStayed here for three days while we explored Shark Bay. Great place to stay, it’s the private house of Phil and Kerrie, and they have designed it with a massive wrap-around deck with two self-contained guest suits and a shared deck and outdoor kitchen that overlooks the bay and national park. It’s a very relaxing environment. Great for groups, it feels as if you are visiting a friend who has a large holiday house and everyone has their own space.
If you like seafood I’d recommend you try the Old Pearler restaurant and order the seafood platter for two. Really excellent seafood, it’s a very small restaurant so you will need to book ahead. Best thing is it’s just a short walk from the house so if you plan on having a few wines you can walk back.
We will come back again. I’d recommend you stay here instead of the resort at Monkey Mia, it’s more private. Also, Phil has an old Jeep that’s been modified for off-road, if you don’t have a proper 4WD he will let you hire it so you can explore the...
