Shark Bay Cottages – Family Room Stay (Booked via Booking.com)
I am staying two nights at Shark Bay Cottages, booked through Booking.com, and it’s been a genuinely lovely experience. My daughter gifted me the trip and chose the family room, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.
The cottage had three bedrooms in total. Two rooms had comfortable queen beds with beautifully made linen and fresh towels ready on arrival. The third room was set up with a bunk and two single beds, ideal for families or groups with kids. All rooms were clean, simple, and peaceful. No clutter. Just what you need to rest well.
The kitchen was compact but had everything you need — a full-sized fridge, microwave, gas oven and stovetop, sink, and shelving for supplies. Easy to cook and clean up without fuss. The bathroom was clean and functional, with a separate toilet and good water pressure.
The lounge was cosy and relaxed, with a comfy seating area, flat-screen TV, and a table and chairs for dining. It felt peaceful, private, and homely.
There’s a small laundry onsite, which takes $1 or $2 coins. Washing costs $6 and drying is $5. Handy to know if you're staying a few days.
One of the highlights was the view. From the room, you can see the four shores of Shark Bay. It adds a quiet magic to the stay, especially in the morning or late evening.
Do note that the cottages are not serviced daily, and milk or coffee is not provided. So it’s worth bringing a few essentials with you.
Overall, a calm and comfortable stay with everything you need. Not overdone. Just clean, well-kept, and perfectly located. I’d absolutely stay here again.
Thank you.
My only gripe is the door between this cottage and the next. Not nice hearing conversations and farting from young people staying next door! The door is this and definitely not...
Read moreWe booked this 3 bredroom cottage on Booking.com it looked very moden & beautiful in the photos.|On arrival we were surprised to see the cottages were in a terrilbe state of repair, our cottage was absolutely discusting & dirty. The bathroom stunk of urine & was filthy, the whole place stunk. The kitchen was old & dirty all fittings, fridge, cupboards, aircon were old & broken down. The furniture was old & filthy we wouldn't even think of sitting on the discusting sofa, the beds admittedly had reasonable bed linen, There was a filthy BBQ outside I would not concider using as it was caked in grease & had never been cleaned.|This place was nothing like the photos on booking.com which showed a modern spotlessly clean cottage with all the mod cons.|I spoke to the owner who told me that he had renovated two of the cottages & showed me them, I asked if we could change our cottage to one of these he told me that they were booked & he couldn't do that. He tried to tell me that for the price it was good value for 4 people! |This place is grossly misrepresented on booking.com & should be taken off the site.|The owner I give him credit agreed to refund our payment, he was obviously used to doing this with other...
Read moreVery dissapointed that the cottage we stayed in was not as pictured on the website. We were in 'Turtle' cottage and I would strongly advise to request not to stay in this one. The bathroom floor and shower tiles were broken and filthy, the couch was stained as if someone had died on it, the whole cottage smelled of mould, no bedside lamps, an aircon unit that the cord had just been cut off, a 2 seat glass table as a dining table, the security door flyscreen had a massive hole in it and the glass door was a mission to actually ppen and close and not to mention very difficult to lock.||Mu husband and I both felt sick staying here and it was a breath of fresh air to move on to Monkey Mia.||I understand that new owners are slowly renovating, however, full disclosure that this particular cottage was not one of them would have been appreciated as money was no object.||To charge $150 per night to stay in a place that is not fit for human habitation is outrageous. We would have been better off staying across the road in the carpark and paying $100 fine...at least there would be clean toilets.||One positve is the location and proximity...
