Despite what one individual says, Chris and Enita are hands down the most kind hearted people I've met when it comes to owning a holiday park. Not only do they respond quick if there's any issue, but they're so nice to talk to just in general about anything. They have kids of their own so they know what it can be like when it comes to holiday season.
In general though, fishing is always amazing, the lake changes by the year so you never know what will be popular until you seek around and ask a few other locals what they're finding. The beach will always be a highlight to, for fishing and swimming. Take down the boogie boards and the surf boards either by car or the short walk down the sand to the preferred swimming area and join others there day in day out.
Being only a 15/20 minutes drive from Bateman's Bay means you're never short of things to do. If you end up going towards the Christmas time, they'll often have a carnival, and who doesn't like a carnival?
Not just that, but opening their doors to current Evacuees of the bushfires happening down there for people who need to leave their homes. Durras north being one of the small amount of places currently (4/1/2020) which aren't on the Tourist Leave Zones list, there may be a large amount of home owners seeking shelter during this time, and they have left it open to those in need.
We come here every year, we won't be stopping...
Read moreI can't praise Joalah enough!||||We stayed three days in a waterfront executive cabin. The cabin was exactly as described eloquently by others in their reviews and seems to have everything one could possibly want in the way of kitchen utensils and equipment, furniture etc. It even has a Nespresso coffee machine and milk frother, and four Nespresso capsules to start you off - and a Weber BBQ! The airconditioner kept the cabin warm in cold weather. The Queen bed was very comfortable, and the quilt and blankets were more than sufficient for warmth in cold weather. The bathroom had been newly fitted out and had beautiful tiles that would look fantastic in any home. ||||Everything in the cabin was in perfect condition, perfect working order, and spotlessly clean. ||||We found the outside fire great to sit around as the sun set, looking over the lake and beach, using the firewood from the $15 bag purchased at the office. We packed a half-axe in the car boot which was handy for splitting the wood. ||||The surrounding national park, lake and beaches are great places to explore. Joalah is well managed by Chris and Anita, and is in a beautiful setting. It is top of our list for...
Read moreWe found this place by accident while travelling up the South Coast of NSW. My wife and I checked in for the night into one of the waterfront cabins. As soon as we saw the view we checked in for an extra couple of nights. It is a beautiful part of the NSW Coast. We would have stayed longer except we had commitments and timeframes to meet. The beaches are so pristine and undeveloped. This place was a gem.
The wildlife is amazing and every afternoon we were visited by Kangaroos, Lorikeets and Cockatoos. The cabins are spacious, and they had a great balcony to take in the views and serenity.
The staff are very welcoming; and Kate at the front office was efficient, courteous and helpful. The ground staff and cleaning staff were friendly and a wealth of information. Would I come back to this great part of the...
