Bay Hideaway Resort - Hervey Bay — Hotel in Eli Waters

Here for contracted work for a month, I was placed in this apartment by my agency in a 3-bedroom apartment quite close to the roundabout (ie deep in the complex) and it was a very comfortable and quiet home away from home.||||As I only needed two bedrooms, the third was locked and unfortunately during the first night, the alarm clock in that locked bedroom started buzzing (very loudly) at exactly midnight. The manager, later found to be living on site, was swift to come unlock the door to the room to shut it down, thankfully. Apart from that, I found the unit quite comfortable. Great living space with comfortable couch and good selection of cable TV channels. Good dining area in the open-plan space. Clean kitchen. The ensuite shower was small but I had the larger second bathroom for a bigger shower space. Air con in the living room and all the bedrooms; they were made to work as it was really quite hot during the first two weeks. Bed was just sufficient; some springs looser than others. TV in master bedroom.||||The garage space was really quite tight; I spent the last week parking my car out in the uncovered visitor's parking space.||||The apartment was self-contained and housekeeping was non-existent. Cleaners simply did NOT clean. The pool/BBQ area is at best ornamental; no-one used it. I was tempted, but I didn't in the end. I wish salt/pepper/cooking oil could be provided in any self-contained apartment. The kitchen-ware could be a bit better supplied. I left quite a bit of food behind, mainly sauces, as well as Glad-wrap/foils, etc.||||The apartment complex was across the road from Woolworth and ~5-10 minutes drive from good beach.||||The aforementioned manager was friendly. Front reception acts as concierge and helped me with my mail, signing in parcels for me, which was great.||||It was great value, knowing how much they charged. The place was unlocked when we arrived so didn't get to test the key. When we came back late at night it took ages to get the door unlocked. Then the key wouldn't come out. We pulled the locking mechanism apart and re-fitted it so it worked perfectly.||The main light in the bathroom had blown and there were no spares in the apartment.||No milk in the fridge.||Parking is amazingly tight in the allotted park. We parked in the visitors car park for ease of getting in and out of the vehicle.||We asked for a one hour later check-out due to a family celebration the night before. Answer was a flat 'no'. As usual, the website portrays the property in the best possible light. The managers were helpful and obliging. The pool was pleasant but could have done with a clean. Just appears plonked in a fenced grassed area with minimal shade and some basic gardens. The communal barbecue area lacked a sink/access to water and even a garbage bin. The unit seemed to be lacking in maintenance e.g. burn hole in bedroom carpet, shower tap fell off the wall. The unit itself was well-equipped.
