Benson House & Benson Lodge — Hotel in Hume

Benson House and Benson Lodge February 2024 We was lucky enough to secure a 4 nights booking in the Lodge as this seems to be a very popular stay. The Owner Ray was so good very helpful from the start with our booking and accommodating with my stuff up with wrong dates that was sorted out very quickly. The location was perfect with walking distance to local eatery's fish and chips, pub, parks lake and morning coffee 3 minutes walk from our house. Only a short enjoyable 10 minutes walk into the town centre. The living space was enough for two people has everything you need for a road trip that's not a hotel room. Tea coffee sugar jams Vegemite fresh milk and a loaf of bread on the first day of arrival so to get us started for our stay. The Bed, was perfect for us not to hard not to soft I think it's an individual spring mattress. So no back pain in the morning. It was good for us. Outdoors area with table and chairs for a afternoon drinks in the fresh air listen to the birds. Secure Parking spaces behind a roller door with our accommodation. This place was perfect for our 4 nights stay, very clean roomy toilet and shower good hot water a table for two for take away food with a plates cutlery cups, glasses. I would highly recommend the Benson House and Benson Lodge for anyone that's what's more of a home away from home feeling. The Best short term stays I've rested in, it's a must place to stay. This is my fourth stay at Benson Lodge in Benalla and it never disappoints. Hosts Ray and Liz are delightful, most helpful and once again were only too happy to assist us in suggesting places of interest we had not previously visited.. The Lodge itself is spacious and spotlessly clean, lovely comfy bed, comfortable lounge chairs, closet, table and chairs to eat, vanity table with draws and great light for makeup, bedside lamps and reading lamp at the table. The bathroom has every facility especially the great shower. Breakfast is provided, variety of cereals, crumpets and variety of spreads, great varieties of both tea and coffee and of course fresh milk in the fridge. Appliances include kettle, toaster, microwave oven, hairdryer which all operate perfectly An extra bonus is under cover carport with secure roller door We also stayed at motels on our trip in Victoria and found there is no comparison Benson Lodge is a much better option where Ray and Liz treat you as a guest and not a room number. On my first visit I arrived as a guest and left as a friend and after four visits I have become very good friends. We give Benson Lodge 10 out of 10 and hope to be back regularly for another delightful stay

I was lucky enough to stay here in January. I was in Benson Lodge so My review will reflect that but I'll hazard a guess that the other accommodation at the same property is just as good.

Let me say first that this is everything that short stay accommodation should be. It's super clean, really cosy and very well appointed.

Benalla is a great regional city and Benson Lodge is well within walking distance of everything the fine city of Benalla has to offer.

The property itself is immaculately presented, access is very easy (parking can be both on or off-street) and the lodgings are tidy and comfortable. There's air conditioning, decent TV, microwave, kettle etc so you are able to stay there comfortably if required but there's a pizza place and a pub at the end of the street if you don't wish to fend for yourself. Walk a little further and you're in Benalla Proper (so there's fast food etc) Bed was super comfortable and the bed linen was crisp (important to me). Bathroom was spotless.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. I'd go back but it's booked out, understandably. The hosts are also very easy to deal with and clearly understand the requirements of their guests. I wish they were all like this as...
