Nice tidy grounds. Check in was simple.
On arrival, we were told by our neighbor that the previous evening- 3 Ford Rangers were broken into, one on our site had all their alcohol stolen. We were advised not to leave anything outside. On our second night, the neighbor across from us said he had his alcohol stolen out of his caravan during the day!! We felt very worried that we would be targeted and didn’t sleep well. Reception said this was rare, however two incidents in 3 days is quite concerning and for the safety of the residents, management should consider closing the front and back gates of an evening.
The En-suite sites are not really suitable for tents due to the concrete slabs. We had to squeeze in between some bushes which wasn’t ideal. 🤦♀️ the en-suite was clean, however there was no soap, floor or hand towels provided. Just toilet paper. No camp kitchen so ensure you bring everything you need. There is a bbq next to the unpowered area.
There is a guest laundry. The pool is very nice. It was a very quiet park.
The onsite Asian restaurant is ok. Pricey however very generous serving size. Fast service. BYO. Typical Chinese style dishes, very bland. However, there were a few condiments which were needed haha. It’s a shame the fairy lights didn’t work, would have made for a lovely ambience.
If it wasn’t for the thefts, I would recommend to stay here if you have a caravan. No go for tents. Would be helpful if the website was updated to explain about the slabs.
Jabiru town center is nearby, however there isn’t much there apart...
Read moreWe stayed 2 nights here as part of a tour. We stayed in the safari accommodation which has a private ensuite but not attached. I was a bit disappointed at first as I get up several times during the night and the ensuite was not right outside, although close. However this did not end up being a hassle at all. The room is big, with a big sink and was very clean. The only thing that was a bit of a hassle is at night time with lights on inside, you can see everything inside as the exterior is 'holey'. These are at the end of the accommodation, so there is no constant pedestrian traffic outside, and are covered with shade sails , but the odd person walking by can still see everything inside. Not a biggie, just be aware. The staff are fabulous. My husband left behind much needed daily painkillers and as we were on tour we could not return to get them. They were posted express post to our Darwin accommodation and we were told not to worry about the cost. Excellent service. We went across the road to eat on the first night as I do not really eat Thai but the food was not very good, so we ate at the onsite restaurant the second night. The food was fabulous. The ordinary stir fry was not spicy at all, very fresh, beautifully cooked and the portions were generous. The breakfasts were equally as good. There is also a bakery attached. We...
Read morePros - good coffee, decent customer service & good location to explore what of Kakadu is actually open.
Cons - basic 2 bed cabin with very uncomfortable beds, external bathroom & no supplies other than instant coffee, tea & sugar. I think they should supply things such as paper towel, tomato sauce, butter, tissues etc. The cabin is poorly built & designed with paper thin walls. The first night we had someone in the adjoining cabin & the noise was so loud it sounded like a herd of elephants walking around & constant banging of doors. You have to open & close the door from the cabin to outside then the door into the bathroom so EVERY SINGLE TIME someone in the adjoining cabin used the bathroom we could hear the doors been loudly opened & closed 4 times. The noise kept us awake until after 11pm. We also had guests in the adjoining cabin on the 3rd night and they woke us up at 5am with the opening & closing of doors. The excessive noise & being kept awake & woken up was infuriating & that in itself was enough for me to never consider coming back and warn everyone about the noise! Another minor thing to mention is that they don’t have any pool...
