We needed just one nights accomodation so we booked this hotel, considering how low the price was we were expecting something a bit dodgey, but we were very pleasantly surprised to find a very spacious and clean room complete with a small kitchenette and Espresso coffee pod machine complete with pods! We had twin beds that were extremely comfy. You could hear a pin drop during the night as there was no external noise at all.The only thing I would suggest would be for the owners to get rid of the spa bath and use the space for a nice shower, otherwise the room was perfect. We ate dinner in the hotel which was also really good, large serves, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Close by (and I mean within a block) we’re the train station, Big W, and Cole’s & Woolies supermarkets which is very handy We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Stayed in accommodation and had meals and drinks here. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bruchetta was quite average but all steaks were cooked amazing and to order, pepper sauce fantastic. The sticky date pudding is massive and delicious. Apple crumble was a bit disappointing. Beer prices were pretty good and a free beer or wine with each meal when staying in accommodation. The room was spacious and comfortable and the shower is hot and good pressure and overall we are quite impressed.

Used to quite like this hotel. Unfortunately very pricey food menu now! They have great gluten free coeliac safe options but today it was over $60 for a gluten free arancini entree and a gluten free chicken schnitzel sandwich. The gluten free surcharge is $5 which seems very overpriced unfortunately. Don’t think I’ll be rushing back again. Menu on website also needs updating as it doesn’t reflect item changes or prices increase, pretty disappointing after the 3 hour drive!

Although we were expecting a Hotel Motel the service at the bar was more like a small country town (very cold) at $160 per night a little more effort could be made to make one feel welcome. We enjoyed our stay and the room had noting that could be faulted (very clean and as per description when booking) As we ate in the restaraunt I am obligated to voice my opinion although it is not good. 1.I have to comment on the service (well done to the girls on meet and greet and table service) As for the meal it self, It was not cooked in the manner asked, We asked for the Scotch fillet steak to be cooked Med/Rare and it was on the lower scale of Rare , so much i belived there was a splashing of blue through mine, It makes the steak hard to eat when the fillet it self contains steaks of sinue.(poor selection of meat). 2.We asked for vegtables, as we booked in a hotel/motel we expected at least some home style mash or a real vegtable. 10 snow peas and three beans with a piece of broccolli and a piece of cauliflower to me, does not constitue vegtables.

Over all experience was totally lost on a piece of under cooked meat on a plate accompanied by a sad effort by someone trained to do better.

Being in the hospitality industry i would be embarresed on...

We went for tea as a table of 4, the service was great, and the girls polite and friendly, the restaurant only had three tables of customers so fairly quiet for a Tuesday night, also terrific hot cheese bread, but when our meals came out i ordered roast of the day ( pork ) 2 pieces of meat 2 grilled cherry tomatoes 2 carrots and some broccoli and 3 roast potatoes, with a dash of gravy the meal came out cold which we sent back, then they served soup and a main meal at the same time ??? to my friend which he asked could they take it back and keep it warm i find this most unprofessional for table service if it was requested thats different, my hubby had the pork sausages ( 2 ) with mash potatoes and peas for $24.00...seriously $24.00 for 2 sausages and mash potatoes and peas ????? then we ordered 2 more drinks and after waiting a good 5 minutes we went up to the bar to as ask about our drinks to which the reply was oh sorry the other girl must have forgot ?? i would hate to see what would happen if it was busier than 3 tables of customers...all in all very disappointing overpriced menu with very little food on the plate...we...

Came to Echuca for work. After a long, hot & humid day arrived at The Cal around 5pm. Thirsty as hell, so bags in hand rocked straight to the bar. Great staff. Sorted our room with no problems. Four "lemonades" later headed down fown for a shower before dinner. Woah! Was not expecting that. Bloody nice room. Recently fully renovated and very tastefully done. Surprised to see George Clooney had supplied a coffee machine 🙌. Shower was great, bed was super comfy. Food was excellent- Bruchetta ✔ Steak, chips, veg & music sauce ✔ Parmi, chips, salad & gravy ✔ and dessert... profiteroles with strawberries & icecream ✔ Again, couldn't fault the staff ✔✔ This morning, found out there's no "sit down" breaky but... there is drive-through breaky! Coffee, ice coffee, egg & bacon roll/toasted sandwich add hash browns and we're on the 3hr trip home. Thanks guys. Keep up the...
