At first, they seemed nice, but when we walked into the back in a dark (what seemed to be a garage or something, messy paper work everywhere) we just brushed it off and we regret not looking at the place before paying the remaining money. When she showed us around, she pointed out all the faulty appliances that we shouldn't be using, she asked my husband if he was a handyman and how she gets some of her guest to help her 'fix' the place up. Even if my husband is a handyman, we are on our anniversary getaway, we came there to relax not work. The handle of the sliding door (which is basically your main entrance) is broken and anyone can break in literally with a ruler, no security at all. When we saw the bathroom, she told us that she took 3 light bulbs out and only left us with 1, when we asked why she replied "because guest leave the lights on when they go out". It was so dusty and dirty, when we rocked up the towels were on the oil heater because they weren't dried and ready for us, the towel rack broke while she was showing us around. The bed sheets didn't look clean nor did they smell clean, we saw some bed bugs on the bed and this put us off straight away. We booked the Deluxe Suite with Spa Bath, there was no balcony or mountain view for us. I believe that as guest we deserve to have a clean, comfortable and secure environment to stay in especially when we are paying $320 a night. We didn't end up staying at any of the 2 nights that we booked, we were so disappointed and outraged so we just went back home. We did call and try to compromise to get half our money back but they didn't return any of our calls or messages Absolutely the worst way to end our anniversary getaway!!!! Below is my response to their reply as this is the only way I can do it (there is no reply button for me to reply directly to their message) First of all, what two kids does my husband wish to bring here?? we don't have any children and I can tell you that as his wife my husband was not pleased at all with this place. He never once offered to fix anything (I mean we are celebrating our anniversary...) nor spoke about exchange in payment (as we paid the remaining half before we even got to really see how bad this place was, BIG MISTAKE that we made). Your property may turn into a museum in the future but if you cannot provide even the basic needs for your guest than don't falsely advertise the place, the pictures are misleading and every guest deserves to have a clean, comfortable, safe and secure place to stay when they're paying $$$ FYI my husband did attempt to call you, he even left...

Read moreEarthstone and Lillian were very welcoming. We were shown to our room, which had the weirdest set up as a B & B. The "Entrance" to our room was a portico which had the cooking facilities, through a locked door was the accommodation proper. A combustion heater was located at the end of the room which only took me a few minutes to crank up, but it is the only worthwhile heating in the very large room, the small oil heater was pointless. (There was an abundance of red gum firewood outside the unit which easily lasted the 48 hours were were there.) After a few hours the room was sufficiently warm but if you want to keep it that way, you will need to stoke the fire throughout the night in the winter months. The bed was queen size and a bit hard on our old backs, a softer mattress would have served us better, but that's a personal thing. Bathroom was huge with a spa and good shower, the toilet was in the same room. The provisions provided were excellent, streaky bacon, margarine, dips, olives, long life milk, bread, a dozen eggs, large bottle of orange juice, tea and coffee of course. The only real downside, if you can call it that, was having to cook outside your room in the entrance hall, where there was no heating and on the very cold weekend we visited, it was uncomfortable. In the finer weather it would not be an issue. Location is quiet and in wonderful garden with heaps of trees. It rained heavily during our visit, but that added to the atmosphere I think. It is only 2 minute drive into the cafes and fun of Olinda township. Overall, a...
