We stayed 2 nights here camping in a tent. This was a last minute booking as wyaralong dam was closed for the week and we arrived less than an hour after placing the booking. Check in went perfectly smooth and you can set up anywhere in the designated area. We got a spot facing the sunrise and not too far from the amenities buildings.
The kitchen is near new all stainless steel with sinks to wash up in, microwaves and kettles are also available to freely use, and there is a fridge however we didn’t use it. There is also 2 electric barbecues in the kitchen area and plenty of tables to sit and cook at.
The bathrooms are cleaned daily and have hot showers. Accessible bathrooms are also available seperate to the main bathrooms which is accessible by ramp.
We tried a spot of fishing however we didn’t have any luck from the shore due to the amount of gunk and weeds that covers the entire shore, he second any hook or lure hit the water it was gunned up and not going to catch anything. Best fishing would be from boat or kayak.
The views are amazing and there are a lot of black swans and other water...

It has a lovely sunset over the back of the mountains and the sunrises are like they are painted with soft pastel colours.
There are lots of animals around. There are Rainbow Lorikeets 🐦 who will perch on you sometimes, cormorants and other water birds like pelicans and ducks.
If you're camping, there are two types to be aware of, powered (which is site specific) and non powered (which is free-for-all). However, if you book a powered site you don't necessarily get a fire which I think is poor. There is a short walk/drive to the dam about 1.8km around the river.
It's a great...
Read moreTerrific, free location to kayak and enjoy the great outdoors. There are lots of trees right along the shoreline to have a picnic and park the kayaks. Parking was easy and very close to shore. For boats, the launch site was excellent even though it was quite busy. Patience abounded! On the water the boats and kayaks intermingled harmoniously. The scenery was magical, with lots of birds dotted along the water line. We're stayed for the day and will return. Just remember to bring all the food and drink you need as well as chairs etc. Very...
