Gorgeous location situated on Lake Moogerah we camped for three nights. The views are spectacular, well visited by day trippers, caravans and boat enthusiasts, however everyone is respectful and it’s a great place to rest. Close to Kalbar where we visited the sunflower festival with friends who came out for the day. ||Amenities are clean albeit a little aged, they are building a new amenities block which is great news for future visits. I got a surprise when we had a shower that sprayed water out the top at the rose head joint as well as the head causing the dry space to also be wet. Bonus though is the water was warm and great pressure. ||Service is great, the office has some basic supplies but not foods with short expiration dates like bread and butter, they have to be purchased before you arrive or from Aratulla Markets about 15mins away. Things they do have include bait for fishing, ice, ice creams and drinks, as well as toothbrush, pancake mixes with maple syrup, canned items and 2min noodles and the like. ||They have kayaks but not yet available to hire, which was disappointing but understandable as they didn’t have a rescue tinny available at the time. ||There currently isn’t a playground as it is part of a new build improvement. ||Near by you can buy fire wood and kindling, at Aratulla you can go to the drive up for alcohol and fuel and a...
Read moreWe recently returned to Moogerah after a 3 year break to celebrate our Sons 8th Birthday, and were extremely disappointed. New Management and a very disappointing visit. If you want the kids to be able to swim while you watch, you can't, the grass is about 3-4 feet high on the waters edge so there is no visibility. The designated swim area that it actually mowed is catfish city so enter at own risk. The Management live on a powered site amongst the Visitors & cannot handle family and friends having a good time. We were told we had been drinking all day & "they" had received complaints all day from fellow campers. Our actions were that of normal families camping, a little music, laughter & a few drinks. Our boat broke down & we had a few people arrive throughout the day with parts, too many drinks later and they couldn't drive, offered Management to pay for them to stay & not use the amenities due to Covid limitations (Management said they were fully booked). Keeping in mind, there was a vacant site beside us that the night before slept a family of 5. But no, Management wouldn't have a bar of it and said to 3 women (all wives & mothers) "how could WE let the men drink too much & get like this" and said we were not doing the right thing so they were calling the Police. That sums up our experience at Lake Moogerah...
Read more2021 - Had a great camping experience. The relief staff were amazing in getting on top of the over grown lawns and wasps. The women’s toilets had half a dozen in there and many more outside in the entry areas. They had a fire pits for hire. Reasonable selection in the office shop for groceries. Though would he great if they had things like eggs, bread etc also. Would have given a 5 except for the wasps.
Update 2022
New camp site caretakers Nikki and Grant have a wonderfully maintained park. The grass is neat and tidy with more grass being laid. Recent rains see the damn at 100% the wildlife love it. Loads of ducks, swans, birds, rabbits and possums. They currently have a new amenities, camp kitchen and playground under construction. It’s a park built for self sufficient campers who’d like a good shower, public toilets and a camp kitchen. Loads of kids were in attendance like the good old days riding their bikes and making friends while here. Their general store is expanding doing hot pies, sausage rolls, more shelf grocery items too.
Birds are super friendly they land on you for food and are even so brazen as to come to the campsite helping themselves to your plates whilst eating.
Cons: it’s not a pet friendly park. No laundry or...
