Look elsewhere! Several reasons why, this place is tired, expensive and does not seem to appreciate the patronage, maybe understaffed and poorly maintained due to COVID, however this feedback is on our stay. We are a large group of 14 adults, mostly partners, but not all. For 5 nights, we booked 2 x 3-bedroom and 1 x 2-bedroom deluxe apartments. Each apartment cost over $500 per night. The 3-bedroom apartments are NOT 3 bedrooms, they are 2-bedroom with an opaque divider in the second room and a second bed. The divided section does not get airflow, power, or privacy. When we complained, we were offered a discount to rent a rollout bed for the room. We asked for 4 single beds when booking many months back, this did not happen, and was never going to be possible, but they didn't let us know this. Apparently, only one room here has single beds. The room Wi-Fi has a maximum amount of devices (approx 3), it is slow, apparently, you can buy a better service that works. I was unable to run Kayo on the TV, I didn’t pay more. Limited 3G &4G worked in the room. The general Wi-Fi throughout the resort didn’t allow internet access for our phones, apparently, it worked for the receptionist, so my concern was not investigated. Our 2-bedroom deluxe room is missing a flywire/security door in one room. The bin in the bathroom is broken; the shower screen has been replaced with shower curtains that were unfortunately mouldy. The kitchen utensils are old, not matching, and some cracked and chipped glasses. There were no basic food/kitchen supplies, such as salt and pepper, sauce, glad wrap etc, as often found in apartments. Bathroom exhaust fans were not working. Ants in our room and a cockroach in one of the other rooms. The pool deck was being upgraded during our stay, this will benefit future guests, power saws and limited access to the pool didn’t enhance our time here. We had paid extra for a ground-floor apartment opening directly onto the pool, but it was barricaded with high-vis netting…very disappointing. Especially when we were not told about this when booking. The spa heating is currently broken. 2 toilet rolls are provided upon arrival, additional rolls can be purchased for $0.80 each. Really?? In summary, good location but very expensive for this very tired under-maintained place. The condition of the facility unfairly places the staff under...
Read moreOur stay at Imagine Drift was not anywhere near as expected for our stay of 7 nights which was booked approximately 4 months ago; Pool decks were 50% closed off for decking replacement maintenance, with no notice to us to allow us to consider other locations. It had obviously been long term planned works. The lift in building 3 was out of action on arrival, with a statement from reception staff that it was to be fixed the next day. It still was not working 7 days later when we left. The lack of lift forced guests in the building into a long walk around other building to gain access. Pity if any guests had disabilities. On arrival in our Loft apartment, we were greeted with shredded curtains and a torn Sofa/ couch. On reporting these conditions to reception, we were informed that they were aware of these conditions and "it is what it is" and scheduled for future repair. No alternate accommodation was offered. The apartment was clean and all facilities worked, except the 3 balconies had very limited furniture and were is in disrepair with pot plant containers full of weeds with at least 6 months growth and floor tiling covered with mould and grime. Room cleaning staff advised us that balconies are not part of their responsibilities. The location of the resort was excellent with close proximity to restaurants and beach facilities. The apartments are apparently privately owned and managed by the Resort, which reflects very poorly on their management. The overall result was that an long anticipated holiday was not as expected and management made no attempts to address...
Read moreWe booked 10 nights from Dec 29 2021 to Jan 8th 2022 in a 2 Bedroom Executive Ocean View Room. My wife, 15 year old and myself drove 2000klms towing our JetSki to Palm Cove in the torrential rain. There was no undercover parking or security for our vehicle and Jetski. Fair enough. Unloaded all our gear and opened the door to our room which was boiling hot. The A/C in the main bedroom was blowing hot air and the main living room A/C took a while to half cool the place. The staff advised that the A/C down this end of the building, which was one of the most expensive units, was never that good. They brought us up a portable fan which was to blow cool air from the living room into our main bedroom, but it just didn't work. Day 2 saw the A/C in the main living room also fail, so the only airconditioned room was my son's room which was beautifully cold. We had to ask for a coffee plunger, which should've been in the cupboards. In the 10 nights we stayed there, not once did they service our room, which was meant to be done a few times during our stay. All the staff at reception were so rude and made us feel like we were disturbing them, asking us to find another hotel to stay at., rather than fixing the problems. There was not one room available anywhere in Palm Cove during this time. We did get a small discount due to the non working A/C, however this did not make up for the uncomfortable conditions we all experienced for 10 days. I trust the new management care a little more about the condition of their rooms and...
